What is your "INTUITION" about THE SECRET "law of attraction"?
by Terry inever hear somebody say, "trust your gut..."?.
or, like obe wan kenobe: "trust your feelings...."?.
have you ever followed that "little voice" that whispers to you that you should or should not do something?.

cult classic, you ask "How does this work in "real" life?"
it is simple, we all have our reality, that is why in front of the same event we can come to opposite conclusion and perceive it in a different way. a simple example, two astronauts in space one can say I do not see God, there is no God; the other one, everything I see reveal the existence of God.
we can convince ourselves to believe almost anything (that is how it works in cults, isn't it?) and most of the time our reality is shaped by our beliefs, background, culture, etc…
a cat is an animal, but depending on how we see it (our reality) it can be, food, a pet to play with, a god, a detestable animal to be eliminated.

what is reality? I tend to agree that reality does not exist. each one of us creates his own. the same event is perceived by each individual in a differfent way.
as to "the secret" I think a good part of it is BS.

A kind response to Jim Penton & Ros of Channel C
by Amazing inthe following are transports of postings on http://www.channelc.org/ made by jim penton and ros regarding myself and james caputo respectively.
the reason that i did not post directly on channel c is that ros and many of her board participants do not like to see anything that resembles catholic discussion, even if the responses are done respectfully and in a spirit of clarifying a false claim or misunderstanding.
i too do not like "catholic" discussions on channel c, and have not posted there for 9 months until i recently posted an announcement about tom cabeen's interviews on ewtn and with randy watters.

I fear fjtoth might have got the point
another look at the book "mistakes were made, but not by me" will not do any harm to any of us.
as to Ros, I have been on channelC just for a short while but have not noticed any of the behaviours that are highlighted here by some posters. but of course I have to admit that I also have my "blind spots" and therefore could be wrong

"Even if it isn't true" - how many of you heard this one recently?
by hamsterbait ini remember first hearing it after the generation change of 95.. a sister answered up at the wt and said "even if armageddon isn't coming, its still the best way to live.".
i have heard others say: "even if it isn't true, it's still the best way of life.".
my mother said it a few weeks ago!

even if Armageddon isn't coming, its still the best way to live
I heard a DO saying something similar. He said, even if there is no God, this is the best way to live.
Is a matter of cognitive dissonance. Some have their doubts, and have to justify their not questioning their beliefs. Why question them if it is in any case the best way?

Reaction? The dubs i know are still in shock . Nobody believes the lame reasoning of the letter "They must know something" is the common thinking. The sincere ones will miss the study, the "weaker ones" will be glad for a night off.
I think Ozziepost is right, I see it as big mistake..They won't do extra study on a Tuesday , they will watch telly, go shopping , work overtime or go to night school ..sounds good...
agreed 100%

District Conventions are awful if you have kids. (Learn why!)
by easyreader1970 ini know that many of you have not been to distric conventions in some time, but what i am about to describe is a recent trend.. 1. more people than seats.
for the past six or seven years, they've tried cramming too many congregations into one convention hall at one time.
in many cases, if you do not get to the convention more than an hour before the program starts and you need more than a couple of seats, you cannot find seats.

it is great to go to DC with kids, you manage to miss most of the programme :)

15) What else can we learn from Israel's Exodus from Egypt? That we must obey Jehovah no matter what he asks us to do. The Israelites were obedient in carrying out the detailed preparations for the Passover. They obediently stayed indoors during the night of Nisan 14. When they finally left Egypt, they had to go "in battle formation." (Exodus 13:18) Today, it is so important that we follow the guidance that comes to us through "the faithful and discreet slave"! (Matthew 24:45) We have to listen very carefully to God's word behind us, saying: "'This is the way. Walk in it, you people,' in case you people should go to the right or in case you should go to the left." (Isaiah 30: 21) As we get nearer to the outbreak of the great tribulation, we may well receive some detailed instructions. Our safe journey through those troublesome days will depend on our keeping in step with other loyal servants of Jehovah.
16) Remember, too, that Jehovah diverted the Israelites into a position where they appeared to be trapped between the mountains on the one side and the Red Sea on the other. It just did not seem to be the right move. But Jehovah had everything in hand, and all worked out to his praise and to the salvation of his people. Today, we may not clearly see why some organizational matters are handled in a certain way, but we have every reason to trust in Jehovah's guidance through his faithful channel of communication. At times, our enemies may seem to be getting the upper hand. From our limited perspective, we may not be able to see the whole picture. Still, Jehovah is capable of maneuvering matters at the right moment, just as he did back there for the sons of Israel. -Proverbs 3:5.
Brainwashing paragraphs of the year!
I wonder how JW's would feel reading similar reasonings in a publication of another religious group... but of course JW's are right and other groups are wrong ;-)
