Anybody JW (and JW's are the majority of the readers of this study article) that raises "troubling" questions about Watchtower doctrine is not commended. They are treated as faithless or disrespectful toward Jehovah (i.e., the organization). They may even have been told as much by the elders, and may even be told to just shut up about it (have faith in Jehovah, wait on him, i.e. do NOTHING).

Putting off having kids?

it seems to me there may be some of you out there who have not had kids due to the situation where you are not of the same mind as your partner in wanting to bring them up as witnesses.

thinking back to besty and i before we had the two boys, i remember being of two minds - do i?

i was concerned that besty wasn't a spiritual head and he had even categorically stated that if we did have kids they wouldn't end up being witnesses.

I still remember that DC and subsequent WT about not having children in the time of the end... what an idiot I was at the time :-(

Luckily we eventually decided to have them. If you want any, I would not recommend to wait for too long (you do not want to be to parent and grandparent at the same time ). It was a whole new world and experience. They were instrumental in my questioning the WTS.

there was a time when many of us would have acted in the same way, which makes you think how our mind is easily vulnerable to control. That is where the effort is to be put, to help people use their brain in a rational way.

How Can I Order Court Documents?

i am interested if at all possible in ordering the court documents showing the wtbts indeed settled out of court, and placed a gag order on the 14 victims in california.

are those documents considered public record?

if so can someone point me in the right direction?

I doubt they are available, once there is an out of court settlement confidentiality becomes a must. You may ask Jim Whitney (posting here as Amazing) as he was directly involved in some of the trials.

New date for Armegeddon???

i must have missed this on my travels thru different x-dub sites, but i think i read something on here about their "new light" regarding the timing for armegeddon.

since its been over 30 years since 1975, how do they predict armegeddon now?

what do they tell new converts regarding the 1975 debacle?

2034 is the strongest date the WTBTS has "hinted at" Noah like work , 120 years ; 1914 +120 years = 2034

I agree. OTOH it could be argued that the work Russell started well before 1914

The informal expression would be "Casse le tour." The formal one would be "Cassez le tour." So not so very rough, I would say.

Sandra isn't tour feminine? so it should be "casse la tour"

What does it mean though to show an interest...obviously not going to a soccer game with them, but you
can go with the PO with the season tickets.
