Stick by your friend. She is going to need you.
By the way, listen to her more than anything. She'll need big ears and loving arms.

is this staged?
i noticed the man kept calling the householder 'brother', i never heard that done in the ministry.
opinions?.
Did I hear her say the guy was going to hell? Don't think this one's real.
i am really scared to go to the doctor but i am going after 5 years of constantly getting up to go to the bathroom especially at night.
in the daytime i hardly ever have to use the bathroom.
i have been tested for diabetis for many years and each time the doctor tells me "you are not a diabetic booker-t" i am terrified now because a good friend of mine who is in his early 40's as i am just found out he has prostate cancer.
Here is a link that you may find to be helpful. There are numerous reasons....don't be alarmed. But do go see someone.

i have heard two vastly differing viewpoints on this subject over the years.
regarding your significant other, would you care if they went to a strip club or not?
some examples: .
Dont' like them at all and wouldn't go to one myself...the male version that is. It's a mutual respect between my husband and myself. Actually, it isn't even an issue.
If he wants to see some pole dancing, I'll slam a few drinks and do it myself. lol
very personal and yet it happens way too often, but would you forgive and if you did, how would it change you and the relationship?.
or is it over?.

Xena,
I would imagine it could be restored but it would certainly take A LOT. I have never really been through this and truly don't think I am going to have to go through it. I don't have any reason to doubt my husband as he is careful with boundaries and we are very respectful in this area. Neither one of us are flirtatous with the opposite sex.
Which leads me to this question:
We are all referring to cheating as being with someone else in a heterosexual relationship. Would any of your feeling change if you found out your spouse was with someone of the SAME sex? Sorry, that would be IT for me.

The sex with someone else would haunt me more than the lie. Way more.....I couldn't sleep. I actually have a bit of a psycho side that wouldn't be pretty. Honestly, it would eat me up inside.

My father and I had this conversation right after I was married, almost 16 yrs ago. I stood firm on my position back then that if Gerry cheated on me I was out of there.
His response was not well understood at the time but I have a greater understanding now that I have some time under my belt.
He said that after being married to my mother for so many years, he wouldn't be willing to throw all those years away because of one mistake. It just wasn't worth it to him.
Now that I have endured through some very hard times with my man and have grown to love him in a much deeper way that I did when we first married, I understand this statement.
I think it is important to really weigh out many issues. It's very personal and shouldn't be blanketed with a 'yes' or 'no'. Until we've been there and really felt the pain of adultry, I don't really know that we understand the severity this has on a relationship.
I would want to take the life of both parties or have my husbands dealie on a platter. I would probably need a big time-out, lots of counselling and healing. The trust would never fully be restored.
I also would need to know if this was a one-night stand or a 'sneak behind my wife's back for an all-out affair" kind of fling. That spells out even more about a persons character.
It's also important to remember that each and every one of us is certainly capable of cheating. You've heard the saying, "There but for the grace of God go I."
today was parent day at jun's preschool.. and they do the pledge of allegiance.. it was funny because i was stumbling through it trying to remember it.. in all honesty, it wasn't a moment where i thought oh yay!
it was more like, eh, whatever, it's a flag.. .
it was interesting.. .
I found this thread to be very interesting. I have grown up saying the pledge and never really throught much about it until some law suits were headlined on the new regarding "One Nation Under God..."
Now, I get a little emotional about this whole ordeal. The fact that we still are even allowed to say "God" is short lived.
After 9/11, I have found myself to be a lot more patriotic than ever before. I don't believe there is a single American out there that can't remember where they were when they first heard about this tragic event. It profoundly impacte me. I'm not even necessarily saying I support the war, I am just saying that I am proud to be a part of this wonderful country we live in and am thankful for all the men and women who have given their lives for our freedom.
Sure, the freedom today is VERY different than the freedoms our parents enjoyed. Nevertheless, we have a lot more freedoms than many countries these days and I appreciate living here.
my friend is getting baptised sometime in april.
i have lots of questions.. first of all, she willing inquired about some christian books i have and is currently reading them.
both have to do with purity but i am sure she would notice some theological differences when she reads them.
We've discussed the issues of shunning and I always tell her personal stories of people in my own church body that have done something BIG but how we come along side them and help them through their issues. For instance, one of the engaged 19 yr olds in my Bible Study just found out she is pregnant. I shared with her the general take on it:
Okay, so she got caught. Embarassing? Maybe, but lets stand by her as she approaches her wedding day and celebrate with her. So she had sex. Lot's of people do outside of marriage. Is it right? No, not according to the Christian faith. But let's not throw stones at the couple and ditch them. There's a lot of growing that will take place through the circumstance and turning our backs on her is hurtful.
I communicate these types of things (as there have been many situations over the years) and she always agrees. But, she still shuns people. Hmmmm.....
I have to be careful because she is a new employee.

Is the baptism kind of an impersonal experience? Is it just a matter of formality and lots of people are getting baptized?
Also, do you personally recall being aware told that the wts is the voice of God? When I said this to her she kind of shook her head, almost as if she didn't agree with it in the same way that I was intending it to be meant.
