LIE in NWT Phil 3:11

nwt has for philippians 3:11.

" [to see] if i may attain to the earlier resurrection from the dead.".

the greek doeas not contain the word "earlier" - nor does any other translation i checked.

Well, I just compared many different Bible version in English, Spanish and French and yes, most of them do say "resurrection" and leave at that. But a few others paraphrase the meaning/translation and add "men" and other words that are not in the original Greek. And yes, obviously, they include "earlier" based on their believe but also because usually the word for resurrection is "anastasis" but Phil. 3:11 has the word "ex-anastasin" instead of just "anastasis". "Ex-anastasin" lit. could mean "out-resurrection" which the NTW includes in its footnote and so the WT makes a distinction between "ex-anastasin" and "anastasis". "ex" usually means out, out of. So they must've tried to fit a word that makes sense and they chose "earlier". Not that I'm defending the WT but every translator has to do this. No translation is perfect or word for word.

Adam & Eve question...

my young daughter asked this question regarding adam & eve:.

if they were perfect, why did they need to eat from the tree of good and bad anyway?.

we eat to nourish our bodies, we eat to replenish, we eat for energy....they were perfect and would not need those things.. from the mouth of babes.... what's your thoughts....

Adam and Eve were NOT immortal. Nowhere is that mentioned in the Bible. Paul said that Jesus was the first being given immortality. Other than God Himself, no other being is mentioned as being immortal. Jesus was GIVEN immortality and so will those who go to heaven. But not even angels are said to be immortal.

Adam & Eve question...

if they were perfect, why did they need to eat from the tree of good and bad anyway?.

we eat to nourish our bodies, we eat to replenish, we eat for energy....they were perfect and would not need those things.. from the mouth of babes.... what's your thoughts....

Well, not exactly. Yes, they were perfect. God created them perfect. But obviously, since God created trees and fruits and vegetable for them to eat, eating had nothing to do with being perfect. Just because they ate doesn't mean they weren't perfect and just because they were perfect, doesn't mean they didn't need to eat. Their perfection was mostly with their choices and aging process.

Jesus was also perfect yet he ate and had to eat to survive. In addition, just because one is perfect doesn't mean one can't die. By being perfect, one can't naturally die from old age or sickness. Look at Jesus. He died but not from sickness or old age. He died because he was killed. He was also weak because he was starved. He even expressed being thirsty since he asked for water at the well and when on the stake.

So, again eating doesn't mean not being perfect. If that were the case, why would God create trees so we can eat from them?

why is it that most "americans" or people in the u.s. consider "hispanics/latinos" and spaniards to be the same?

i always felt uncomfortable singing this.

But Jennifer Lopez is not fluent in Spanish. She has given interviews on the show of Christina and no, she wasn't fluent. True, she's improved from not knowing Spanish at all to the point where she can carry a basic conversation but that doesn't make her fluent. Neither does her having song in Spanish or released Spanish albums because anyone can release songs/albums in any language they want. Celine Dion and Michael Jason have released songs in Spanish but that doesn't make then fluent or Spanish speakers by any means.

Also, the fact that she doesn't use Spanish as her main language or much at all, doesn't help her in being fluent since one has to use a language a lot in order to become fluent and remember it. Have you ever heard the expression - if you don't use it, you lose it - in reference to languages?

You are right in saying that lots of people from Latin America have Native American and African ancestry. But there are also those who are 100% of European descent, esp. in South America - mainly in Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Paraguay - because there was a massive European immigration there after WWII mostly from Spain, Italy and Germany.

The majority of Caucasians in Cuba are 100% Spanish. Gloria Estefan and her family are direct descendants of Spaniards. In fact, she still has relatives in Spain. Also, the Argentinian singers - who are siblings - Pimpinela are of 100% Galician descent. You can type white hispanics on google or wikipedia and you'll get a list of "hispanics" who are 100% of European descent.
