in john 1:1, the word god, or theos.
the lower case word of god, in the greek is qeov, the upper case word is "8eov" (my keyboard doent have that letter as you know) the word god appears twice in this verse, written the exact same way.
I am wondering that if ya 3 here realize that the word God, in the old testiment (Elohim), was plural almost 5 out of every 6 times it was used and never was really intended to be used for Jehovah only, unless written as Eloah?
Look at it and tell me your opinions on it.
I should add, the Trinity will still be pretty much somewhat a mystery until the day we arrive in heaven...or the day Judgemnt happens.

It's the little very suttle things that you must keep in mind when reading the Bible. Even the change of a punication, or captialization can severly alter the true meaning of a verse, or in some cases, entire chapters.
I recommend to one of my students, who is converting from Hindu to Christianaity but is looking to becoming either a Baptist, Luthurn or JW, you must read the Bible for yourself to see what it really says. Anyone can twist the scriptures to fit their theology. That is how so many people can get screwed up. Just read the Bible for yourself and see what it really says, and if you can get ahold of a Greek and/or Hebrew version, you are set.

However, the WT has translated One word as "God" and the other as "god", as we know to fit their theology.
I am wondering does the Followers of the WT even examine the Bible to see if it lines up with the JW Theology or what?

I had to stop him and tell him that He's going to tell me that I can't understand the Bible without aid of studying with them, or the Watchtower. I was tempeted to say this over the phone, but will most definally say this is it's brought up again......"You are basically telling me you are incompentant of reading the Bible for your self then." Then he basically got off on a tangent about some things, which ended up talking about War and how God was aganist War. I responded "You do know that in the Bible it says There us a Time for peace, and a Time for War". Then he start really going off. I had to stop him again, and basiacally say "Look, I have 17 year olds who can run rings around me with their Bible Knowledge, And you can't be afraid to learn from the younger generation." Then he started about studying systematically. I told him "Well, my Idea of learning the Bible and what it says is by reading every single solitary scripture from Genesis 1:1 to Revolation 22:20." Basically, he started to bring up other points, and I basically said "Lets me on such and such, and I can bring in my 800 Scriptures, and study from there, ok?" he agreed.
I plan to meet with them next week (After Christmas), and I plan to break out the Big One.....my Hebrew/Greek Bible with literal translation. Little does he know that I have actually research what the Mosiac Law is all about...and the Mosaic Law is not the entire New testiment, like the JWs Believe. The Law a collection of 613 commandments, not the entire OT as they want to believe, that was NEVER intended for Non-Jews, but most of those laws that have been written in other commandments, laws and covedants given to us by God.
Now, the 2 things I would need help with is 1, Salvation scriptures (which is my calling is to get these people saved) and 2, what is up with JWs trying to discredit the Old testiment laws and not having it apply to them?
imo, they are basically sayin this if they disfellowship someone because that particular person has actually read the bible on their own, and basicalyl come to the conclusion that the wt society is wrong in their interpitations.. thoughts?.
Where Im getting at is.........A JW gets disfellowshipped for basically reading and agreeing with scripture that concredicts what the WT preaches.

i just read a post today that caught my attention, and gave me an idea.. name off some scriptures the society rarely or never quotes and the subject they pertain to.. job 1, 1-3 and job 3, 1-5, birthdays..

You should have seen the look on this elder's face when his own guy he had with him during a "Free Bible study" quoted this scripture after I bought up the fact that You were suppose to do this. They elder got pretty sick, especially after the young JW basically destoryed his theology on government.

anywho, i find it odd that they claim that we are no longer under the mosiac law, and all laws under it arn't required to be practiced anylonger.
What im getting at is....there is no way possible that you can tell me that all 613 laws of the Torah are null in void now. If you actually read all 613 of them, you would know what I mean.
And yes, I do know that we do not have to do sacrafices now.
