President Bush's speech

i wanted to hear the president's speech tonight, but can't stand listening to the man.

he has a prepared speech but he keeps saying nuc-you-lar instead of nuc-le-ar.

i can't stand it.. you would think his people would walk him through correct pronunciation.

We started this thread by talking about the way he pronounces certain words... I rather have people complaining about his mispronunciations than lying under oath to the world (like some Other president). Some things people forget about our president is that he is a YALE Graduate with an M.B.A from Harvard. He was an F-102 Pilot for the Texas National Guard. And was an accomplished businessman both as the owner of the Texas Ranger and head of major multi-billion dollar Oil Company. I do agree though about the argument on his pronunciation but why are we BASHING him JUST FOR THAT!!... Look at the whole picture and just IMAGINE what would've happened if AL Gore had won the election! That wouldve been CATASTROPHIC in my opinion I really think he has handled very well the situation Does anyone here have better curriculum vitae?

well, i talk about my abuse so much i haven't found the need to post it.

I am glad you're doing much better now... I know there is no way to get rid of the past but at least by sharing your experience and finding some support here it just makes it a little bit easier and hopefully... it keeps you sane

Blessings from Jehoovah - BAH!

i had so many fine blessings as a dub that after pondering on them...i am starting to wonder why i left.. some of my blessings were having the bookstudy in our home, oh what a fine blessing....i didnt have to go out on a cold night and i could save 20 minutes in travelling time....woohoo!!

making the unleven bread for the memorial, cool, i got to have the left overs *blech*.

also, working with the cos wife out on field service...yeah that was awesome, i got to pretend i was spiritual and i could talk crap all morning about the co's use of illustrations *choke*.

I got the privilege of

* Vacumming the carpets and cleaning the bathroom when the meeting was over and our group was assigned to do it.

* Modeling the... i mean... Passing the microphones for many many........... many years (I wonder why)

* The finances... I had that for a long time... I LOVED counting all the pennies (cheap bastards) and rolling them... and then going to the bank once a week sometimes twice to deposit the money...

* All the talks... and like you... impromptu talks... it was so easy for me that I got used to do my talks (the 5 minute ones) the same night I had to give them while the meeting was going on... I looooooved when they say: "Thanks for your diligent preparation" ;)

Welcome...

I suggest you read their secret elders manual... it is posted on several sites... and that should give you an idea of what they MIGHT do... but, as many of us know... they always end up doing whatever they feel is the "right thing to do"... like in my case (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=37939&site=3)

I really understand your position... and believe me... I tried doing the EXACT same thing... the only way I can see it working is if you move to a place where you don't know anyone... and you don't talk to any of your friends and/or family about the new life and things that you have learned (in my case that was too hard to do). Otherwise is really hard... but we all understand what you're going through...

If you DA yourself... for them It's EXACTLY the same thing as a DF... they will treat you the same... that's the way they are instructed to behave.

I wish you the best!... I read your first post and I wish that I could have more people (family) going out with me... you still have your family and now... a support group here that will listen and try to give you advice.

Why didn't you just tell them that you are a pedophile? Then you would probably have been "promoted"!

Trust me... I thought about being sarcastic like that... and I DID thought about saying something similar.

So what do you plan to do about it? Are you going to appeal? Don't give them so much power over you! Do you have issues with family that will shun you if you remain DFd?

I may... just do that...

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU SAY AND TO WHOM YOU SAY IT. You would be very surprised at who is more than happy to stab you in the back all the while smiling in your face.

Have you read Crisis Of Conscience by Ray Franz or In Search of Christian Freedom. by the same author?

Believe me... I've been reading A LOT for the past 2 years... in fact, I remember when I was studying the bible... I studied with an old Missionary Elder that knows Ray Franz Personally... he was so outraged and shocked about the news when they DF'ed him... I remember him telling me "Imagine that... if the devil can get to one of the annointed ones... how much vulnerable are we!"... at the time I didn't know who Ray Franz was... but as a curious teenager It peeked my curiosity and I REALLY wanted to know what REALLY happened. Now, years later... I KNOW what REALLY happened.

i'm new here and this is the first post i make (i promise that more will come).

i have been following most of the posts made here quietly for about 4 months and i would like to thank all of you who are called apostates for the well documented and researched material you have presented here.thanks to you i know now the truth about the wt organization and i'm no longer blind and misled.

i disassociated myself about 2 months ago after 15 years of very "faithful" service to the society.i was regular pioneer for 12 years and an elder for 8 years, i served mainly as the service overeer.my experience was published in the 2 of the society's magazins.. as i was a very zealous and prominent elder in my circuit i zealously promoted the organizational rules and i allowed myself to be fully used by the society to promote those mind controle techniques that now i know hurt those who were my sheep.

Did you read Fred Franz's Crisis of Conscience? As an elder you will see how true his experience was and how the "Governing Body" works... AWSOME reading... great info...

Again... Welcome! and I am looking forward to hear more about your experiences... and... if possible I would like to read your experiences on the mags ;) so tell us all about it...

This is my first post on this board even though I have been lurking for a LOOONG time...

I have just being told that the judicial committee has decided to disfellowship me and that I have a week to appeal if I decide to do so.

The reason: "Apostasy"

My sin: I told a friend that I agreed with what was said on the DATELINE interviews and that I didnt believed in the Faithful and Discreet Slave.

So now, here I am... soon to be treated the same way they treat murderers, robbers, violators... etc. etc. etc.

When they first met with me the accusation was "we are having this meeting because there have been several people that are saying that you are going around saying that the faithful and discreet salve is misleading people"... to what I replied "I have never said such thing" (at least in public) the 2 elders in that meeting told me we KNOW you said that I told them that if in fact after the investigation and after we bring the witnesses the result is that I DIDNT say that that then I can say that indeed that is blasphemy? One of them replied: I will give back ALL my privileges as Elder I PERSONALLY will write a letter to the society!

So we agreed to meet for a second time to "confront" the people that were saying such allegations... When I asked what TYPE of meeting it was going to be the elder said "we are going to discuss the same things that we were discussing in the previous meeting" (notice the question vs. the answer) and I agreed to meet... when I get to the Kingdom Hall There were 3 Elders instead of the 2 that I met with the first time... when I asked why the third one they said... "Dont you know... this is a Judicial Committee"... I told them that I didn't KNOW and that I SPECIFICALLY asked what TYPE of meeting it was to the elder that called me... I then told them that if that was the case (if it was in fact a Judicial Committee) that I didn't want THAT elder in the committee... In the first meeting he did A LOT of name calling, something I told HIM it was Unnecessary. Things like repeating time after time the fact that I'm an Inactive disassociated, a sinner...etc. etc. etc. Don't get me wrong... we're ALL sinners what gets me is the direct remarks with the intent of insulting or making you feel less. They totally ignored my request to remove that elder and requests made after the meeting was over for that elder to be removed from that committee. When my two friends came forward to talk about our conversation he stated that we got into a heated argument about pedophiles and the societies position on the matter and that at one point I said that I didnt believe in the Faithful and Discreet Slave.

I dont know if the reader agrees with me but to me those are two TOTALLY different things from what they were originally accusing me for. In fact they were SURE that I had said that the faithful and discreet slave are misleading people and were willing to put their leadership in the org. on the line!

To make the story short Yesterday they met with me and told me their decision to disfellowship me.
