  the Earth is 7000 years old—vidiot

  l was a convert. If this had been put out front and center from the beginning l might not have gone in.

  I remember confronting his understanding that the society had placed as the earth’s age in some publication after l had been in for a while. I worked hard to reconcile this with other science. Finally, I let myself suspend both belief and doubt by creating a “shelf” in my brain. This convenient arrangement allowed me to put problems of faith in closed boxes to be dealt with at a future date.

  Opening those “boxes” meant leaving the bOrg. though l didn’t acknowledge it then.

  There were a lot of reasons l did not like Hilary Clinton. She and her husband are as self serving as the man who now is in the White House.

  The changes this country has to face in these days would never be realized under her. I don’t believe she had the vision or heart make strong action. She was tough but that isn’t enough.

  And even if l am wrong about that , the baggage of her husband’s doings would have made others reluctant to work with her.

  I thought Bernie Sanders was independent thinking . The best thing we had to go with. I did what l could to get him elected. Hillary did him dirty.

  so, this week on the clm there was an interesting comment at our kh.. under the "apply yourself to the field ministry" portion this week, there was the bible study assignment based on the publication: who are doing jehovah’s will today?

  published in 2016. the material was from lesson 28 "what can be found on our website?

  Teachings/beliefs that fade into oblivion without explanation.

  "millions now living will never die" that teaching persisted for a number of years from the early 1920`s ,sad to say that their would not be anywhere near millions alive today.and with another few years their won`t be anybody alive .. the year 1925 was supposed to see the resurrection of faithful men of old such as abraham issac and jacob and noah who were to be princes in the earth.

  of course no such thing happened and we don`t here anything more about that prediction anymore.. the time period between adams creation and eves creation was an excuse why armageddon was delayed in about october 1975 because they didn`t know how much time had elapsed between the two.

  that`s all forgotten about now.. six thousand years of human history was supposed to have ended in about october 1872 according to studies in the scriptures vol.2 1906 , the "time is at hand" page 11 (forward 1916 ) puts the start of the one thousand year reign of jesus christ as of the year 1873. so in 1906 they the i.b.s.a.

  I found Intelligence described as the ability to more and more closely associate ideas. I think that covers all of the definitions of intelligence. It covers social skills, survival skills, academic skills.—vienne

  now that we have stepped away from the jw faith, how do you feel about the bible itself?.

  There is no way to understand or explain Genesis 22.

  The story of God testing Abraham flies in the face of the scriptures that “cannot be broken”

  1) God cannot lie

  2) God condemns child sacrifice as evil.

  3) God does not test/tempt anyone with . evil

  Genesis 22 has him do all three.

  I left over this. The only “out” for God in the matter was to say that the original Hebrew word for burn offering was not derived in any sense from the word for sacrifice. The story must be about a strange teaching of blind faith by a god talking to a man with a limited definition of worship.

  It is impossible to give God a pass on the story otherwise. He would be evil by his own reckoning.

  he wasn't the first to invent it but the first to own a patent.. in 1910 telephone "subscribers" had 4 digit telephone numbers.soon, larger cities had 5 digit numbers.mark twain was one of the first to have a phone in his home.. the first phones had no dials or buttons.
