Austria Begins Closing Mosques and Deporting Imams
by cofty inaustria, a member of the eu since 1995, is a country of 8.8 million people with a muslim population of around 600,000 mostly turkish immigrants.
in 2015 it passed an 'islam law' prohibiting foreign funding of religious groups and creating a duty for muslim organisations to have 'a positive fundamental view towards state and society'.. many mosques in austria have continued to receive money from turkish muslim organisations so the new right-wing government have decided to enforce the law.
seven mosques have been identified for closure and 60 imams are to be either deported or refused visas.

MAGA?
Most slogans are like Chinese fortune cookies.
When you first hear them they make every kind of sense, then —in a flash —they don’t make any sense at all.

UK justice..

Diogenesister—Vulnerable children in care every where seem to fall into bad and worse treatment . A child that leaves its parent’s sight is at risk much less a child cut loose and marked “public ward”. Abuse is often overlooked
Authorities, media, agencies make reports— who can trust them? Agendas, self preservation greed may color their stories. The critical and breakthrough report on the grooming gangs (tell me if I am wrong) came through that journalist Andrew Norfolk after four years of deep digging. He conclusions were damning of the authorities and Pakistani Muslim custom(the culture that has a high number of abusive actions toward women and little girls.)
What do you think of this article by a Rotherham grooming gang survivor? Her account comments on:
the distinction between paedophile rings and the Muslim grooming gangs
attacks against all Muslims that she finds detrimental to fighting extremism
the actions authorities have said they are taking to help but she says they are not

edit: Realizing the different ways sexual abuse is reported Ivan help or hinder discussion. Sex rings and grooming gangs not the same can skew our understanding of this topic. It is specific: Viciously cruel Muslim grooming gangs.

Have you read the article on young Muslims in Australia who want out of Islam, SBF? The poster no-zombie has it out. https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5955816503902208/problem-being-wanting-ex-muslinThe relevant feature of radical Islam is the violent coercive nature of it. The negative impact on host nations and on the oppressive conditions it forces upon its own members subverts the excercise of freedoms in a country. I am convinced that there should be thresholds of assimilation for citizens to enjoy benefits of residency. At least do no harm to the others. The ordinary rule of law could create and maintain order by simply legislating criteria for conduct that had been customary for long time residents but must be legally described for others
Thats how I see the matter.

The problem of being (or wanting be to) an Ex-Muslin
by no-zombie ini just finished reading a long article about the young people wanting to break free of islam in australia and the problems they face in leaving their high control religion.
the similarities between us and them is quite clear, as is how they woke up.
it's worth a read.. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-06-09/double-lives:-the-secret-ex-muslim-network-in-australia/9811340.

SBF— come to think of it... in 1973 when l worked as an Au Pare in Nuremberg before my sojourn in Ireland there were a lot of Turks around the area clear to the suburb of Wendelstein where my employers lived.
The question is whether radical Islam has come with the infusion of outside money. One needs healthy skepticism in these times.

Slimboyfat— In a careful read of the OP it says there was a law passed in Austria three years ago that required mosques to not accept money from abroad. This kept allegiance with in their host country . Also a measure of goodwill was expected toward that same host country. As I understand it only the mosques that are out of compliance have been shut down for the preach also I’m measure of goodwill was expected toward that same host. Those out of compliance have been banned.
If the extreme version of Islam were not so intolerable (and even at times deadly) there would be no problem. But if you read the plight of those who want to leave Islam or who disapprove of some teachings —they suffer grave or violent responses . Such communities as have those attitudes are adverse to progressive live-and-let-live culture.
There are other measures that are cooperative between a government and the Muslim communities to help assimilate.
Skinhead -jackboot type nationalism is not what will help. This is not what is coming l hope. But ignoring this problem is hurting everyone-progressive, gentle Muslims first and others as well.
What measures do you think would work, SBF?

Great to have information, no-zombie.
I just posted on another thread an article from a Sydney paper on the Saudi funding of radical Islamist preachers in Australia. Needing oil makes politicians soft , complicit —even if Australian Muslims want out?
l will read in the morning. Late here in Arkansas and l work tomorrow. But l will see what’s up later.
edit: Started reading , couldn’t stop.
Many said it was knowing Islam so well that allowed them to look at it critically.
And they argued that regardless of their reasoning, they should be legally and socially able to opt out of a religion and to be safe from judgement and abuse.quote from article... sounds like one of us alright.

Simon— Bandicoot had brought up the problems in Australia a while back.
The problem of oil and Islamic extremism was the subject in a Sydney newspaper shows how governments are at cross purposes in dealing for oil and dealing with radicalism
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.smh.com.au/opinion/saudi-funds-help-pay-for-spread-of-wahhabism-20160829-gr3dlu.html
Will legal checks on extremist imams have to overcome big oil Saudis who have been more important than peaceful living? Oil just wants a market. The market wants oil.
Ps. But you may still need glasses :-/
