Abaddon— you certainly are touching on areas of discussion that were covered in past threads: white men WERE exploiting girls more frequently. Yet it also was true that the culturally more misogynistic Pakistani men were the perpetrators of the crimes against white and also Hindu girls in the northern city rape gangs.
The past conversations explored the disturbance of moderate Muslims that there was not a more vigorous application of law to help clear out radical imams, the desire to avoid the negative impact of sharia law . .
I did not title these videos of Andrew Norfolk. And the one I linked to above l found because it is very relevant to the discussion of careful distinctions between unhealthy effects of a subset of the Muslim communities.
The fear of acknowledging characteristics a certain religion has toward specific human rights abuses has happened in other cases:
- The Magdalene houses of Ireland where women were shamed and had their infants removed from them for being unwed and pregnant.
- The hierarchical structure and priestly privelege within Catholic Church that ignored the sexual predations of men who raped children over and over for years.
- The abuse of young women in the polygamous and high control of the FLDS under Warren Jeffs.
- I might mention that Christian law and custom has been used to deny the rights of women for centuries. ( this is an area of discussion that as a many headed hydra shows up on this forum )
- FemaleGenital Mutilation of girls that continues within western lands.
So now Islam has come to Western lands. The numbers of adherents is enough to haves cultural impact.
There are wasabis and salifist imams among Islamic teachers. The government has to deal rationally with their destructive teachings. Many Muslims dread their being in their mosques.
Tommy Robinson has become a flashpoint in Britain because the law makers and enforcers , social services, the media reporting were fearful of seeming inhospitable or even prejudiced against immigrants to note the systems and customs within some Muslim practice that are destructive of the grain of western law.. l might say that it is one thing to go against the grain but another thing entirely to break it. Tommy Robinson from the lower section of society felt and saw the gross failures of assimilation and crudely brought attention to it. His work has probably helped . It certainly has galvanized i investigation on this forum. I believe Tommy should step aside and others with as much conviction and better tactics should do the work. ( and there are people who are trying,)
you should consider the long .. very long discussion on this topic in former threads. I myself may sound cranky at having to repeat what took time and effort to post in those places because l can see that your thrust of concern goes over that ground.
Edit: I personally have a great aversion to the imperialist violence of the Great Western Democracies. I run afoul of posters who have another perspective on that. I despise the racist activism that has grown behind Tommy Robinson . All the world needs better understanding and action to manage our shifting struggling poor.

Abaddon—if anyone takes the time to research the cases in addition to the fact some pretty marginal Muslims (i.e. they weren’t pillars of the Muslim community) didn’t get reported by their own community, the girls were failed by the parents, the police and social workers.
We can all get rightfully angry about sexual predators but the majority of the news coverage has failed to highlight the fact these girls were treated appallingly by those meant to protect them. There has been some digging on the subject. In May there was a thread titled UK Justice .I think you will find the conversation there examined matters you think have been overlooked.
The subset of Muslims involved in the rape gangs were Pakistanis in the Rotherham instance. This report was investigated by Andrew Norfolk over a three year time span. His report was damning of the authorities. The case had gone on for 15 years without getting attention . The girls were mainly from poor and troubled homes.
There are various views on the board on this matter. The video posted is a short interview with Mr. Norfolk. You might check it out . There was a lengthier one posted on the thread mentioned earlier in which he gives a 15 minute presentation on the complex matter that required so much digging to adequately investigate.
I hope you will review that thread, Abaddon. There are a lot of moving parts to this story of Tommy Robinson, radical/misogynistic Islam and the culpability of the authorities . Edit: Norfolk represents, l believe , the finest mind of all in examining the Rape Gangs of the Northern parts of Britain. Trevor Philips is next to him in assessing and proposing solutions to the problems of assimilation of immigrants.
Be specific in directing your complaints please. This board is not a monoculture.

People are nice and life is awesome.
by OneEyedJoe ini got invited as a +1 to someone's house yesterday to watch the fireworks.
i'd never met the hosts, and it seemed that most of the people in the group only knew one or two other people there.
yet i felt more genuine friendship from everyone there than i ever felt at any jw gathering.

Last nightfall the fireworks were blasting and blazing outside. just back from my mothers house l was phoning my son and a neighbor in this trailer court hollered though the window( no air conditioning).
“Come on out. Whatcha doing? We gotta chair for you. Watch the fireworks with us!”

Also read wizzstick’s link.
It is perhaps tainted by name calling in places but has valuable legal information on this topic.
For that matter, l wish you could ratchet down your rhetoric Luhe. Respectfully, your best thoughts will affect dialogue better without name calling as well.
hope not hate—LUHE
That is what you said. Go that way

What on earth happened to poor Tommy Robinson?
He was young and worried about radical Islam. What happened to Tommy Robinson was he could see that the authorities were wrong headed in their approach to Muslim extremism thought he could fix it.
So being a young working class footballer ,drinker(street fighter), he Co-founded the English Defense League.
What happened to Tommy Robinson was he did want to talk and resolve the problems growing in his work in class communities but realized the EDL wasn’t doing it. The EDL was what people said it was – – a creator of problems instead of a solver.
He left it.
As to the charges of fraud. How culpable was he? I actually don’t know , does anyone? Was it three counts he was charged with? He plead guilty to one. In my country you end up weighing options to get the court business over. I don’t know what went down. “Thug” does not equal “thief”.I do know this: he served his time.
to continue calling him a criminal is to practice “western”sharia. If a person commits a theft in Muslim sharia they literally lose a hand. In Western countries a person serves a sentence but is crippled through community shunning. They are effectively crippled- as though they had no hands to work. “ Criminals” don’t have to earn a living? That is Western sharia, absolutely brutal.
I think Tommy Robinson is an absolutely human figure. I think that most people’s way of talking about the actions of a private person who becomes very public and polarizing is mostly stupid.
Tommy has been happy to be a lightning rod— good reasons and bad reasons both. I think over the years he has grown as a human being. I believe he really has had changes both in his perspective the problems of unchecked extremism and how to achieve management of change. He is constantly in trouble -but he is not always in the wrong. Not at all.
It is unfortunate that racists have glommed onto his faulty man who in often counterproductive ways wants to comb out destructive religious activities from massive influx of immigrants and maintain the rule of law.
Racist don’t have good representatives and have tried to “adopt” Tommy but it isn’t serving Tommy’s objectives. I do not believe he is a racist. As for Grenfell towers? Tommywas a tone-deaf myopic ass in SBF’s video, typical ham-handed manner. But not vicious. In my opinion the Muslim mod was as big an ass in his assessment of Tommy. But Tommy brought that on himself.
What has happened to poor Tommy? Even the barrister blogger in the link above fell into the stupid invectives and silly name calling that pollutes important dialogue. Both sides do it.
Really, Poor Tommy. We best talk about the issues instead of the antics.

Jesus taught ...,,against the concept of high control religion and JWs try to avoid those ideas. JW_Rogue
l want to second that thought. Jesus saw the burden of laws on people ( they bind burdens on men grievous be borne ) yet legalisms are the entire structure of the Organization.
Bad, bad association is Jesus.

Scared Kids with cognitive dissonance

The cult makes even families that are totally in, less close. —wakanda
o my god. That is tragically true. I watched it happen.
My youngest daughter and l had the last “dance” in the Org of all my many children. She was starting high school and l watched her negotiate respect of those who mentored her (an elder’s wife she cared deeply for)and her growing resistance to the coercive atmosphere of all “association”. And she did not “feel” Jehovah.
l let her be. And we navigated the following years without the Truth screwing up her life. She went to college and graduated. On the other hand we were open to a young unbaptised son of an elder who “left” just as he graduated highschool three years ahead of her. He was on his own.
And so many were cut of at young young ages. So vulnerable. Always wanting their parents to give them that loving approval, attention -CARE.
To talk to these kids and not condemn their choice was seen as weak parenting.
You said to sparrowdown and wake me-
Thanks for the support. It meant so much as my post made me feel so vulnerable. —Wakanda

Pioneers, Prayers and Pills
by Wake Me Up Before You Jo-Ho inlooking back on my two decades as a jehovah’s witness, i’ve come to realize how the constant theme of endurance is playing a detrimental role on the individual's psyche.. jehovah’s witnesses have become far too good at keeping going.
they’re experts at surrendering to the demands of the watchtower, living up to what’s expected of them, and getting on with the priorities that those in power have defined and imposed upon them.
they keep showing up, presenting themselves a dutiful pioneer or ministerial servant.

The difference between an active Jehovah’s Witness and an awakened one who has walked away from the battlefield is, we wear our wounds on the outside. There is no need to hide them internally and deal with the pain in ashamed silence anymore.

Do you still want to be identified as a Christian?
by eyeuse2badub inmost americans want some form of religious identity - even atheists are creating churches.
by j. warner wallace | fox news.
the number of self-proclaimed christians is shrinking in america.. i’ve been collecting data on this trend for over 10 years, and the surveys reveal an important truth: fewer people claim a christian affiliation than ever before, and those who claim no religious affiliation are the fastest growing group in america.. but while fewer people may belong to christian churches or communities, americans will likely retain some form of religious identity – especially if what’s happening in europe is an indicator of things to come.. a new pew forum survey conducted in western europe reveals that christianity is waning there even faster than it is in the united states.

l ever maintain that the words of Jesus saved my life but l say that doctrines kill. So l do not identify as a Christian.
Since l don’t know or care if there is proof of a Jesus , care still less if he was Christ the Savior l can hardly qualify as a Christian.
If there is a bread of his to eat then l can eat it or not. That it helped me is good enough and l am not ashamed to say l needed it.
That is not the Christian message l ever heard in a church.
edit: so specific to the question: l do not want to be identified as Christian anymore in spite of what l said above. I have found Christianity’s gate is too narrow .( And yes l know Jesus is supposed to have said something about that is the road to life is narrow but.. .. in my world l would have to talk about that.)
