i have a question about my religion.

when people turn apostate, why do they seem kinda... weird.

they turn back to false teachings and their bible knowledge even proves that.

Nimzo...........if the only bible researchers you will listen to are part of the JWs then please forgive me but it is you and not us that is deluded.......

Apostate is to abandon a relgious belief..........the reason any of us abandon a religious belief is because it is proven to be wrong not because we wanted it to be wrong.......how many of us do you think love the idea that we do not have the hope of everlasting life on paradise earth or the resurrection hope........

If your only point of reference is that which the JWs feed you it is no suprise that you view us a deluded apostates...........for you to have an unbiased opinion you would need to examine a lot of evidence and facts that will expose your religion for what it is........are you prepared to do that?

Nimzo you use the word deluded to describe the people you find on a board such as this........or apostates.

Delude means to deceive the mind or judgement of..............

An apostate is one who abandons his religious faith..........nothing more nothing less..........it does not require that person to become a believer in the trinity.

If you are sincere you will listen and discuss the many reasons why people who use this board have chosen to stop being associated with the Jehovahs Witnesses.............the evidence they have that it is not the 'truth'........and the reasons why they felt they had been deluded whilst serving as a JW or even conned.

Many of us were raised as JWs............many of us served obediently and believed..........all of us have had our eyes opened and are no longer deluded!

Things I have learnt.......tongue firmly in cheek........

1. The only time you can change a man is when he is in nappies.

2. The best way to get a man to do something is to suggest he is to old for it.

3. All MEN were created equal.

4.The Israelites wandered around the desert for 40 yrs...........even in biblical times men wouldnt ask for directions.

5. The man is the head.........and the woman is the neck and a such controls the direction

6. We know most men can beat us at arm wrestling.........however, very few wage rises or promotions at work were gained through arm wrestling the boss..........I know this has little to do with women being bossy but I liked it all the same.

I agree men are entitled to discuss this subject and have opinions and personal feelings on this matters........it just seems odd that this thread is mainly men discussing the subject, thats all.

I can totally undertsand that for a man it would be distressing if he wished a pregnancy to go ahead whilst his partner wished to terminate.......

The problem lies in that all circumstances are individual and unique.............and sometimes until we have walked in anothers shoes it is impossible to undertsand their position.

Not all abortions would be the first choice of the mother concerned, but circumstances lead them to conclude that it is the best option for them and others involved.

Wozadummy...........do you think that nobody disposes of aborted babies............it is someone's job you know.

Skimmer my connection to you and the bible lay only with you reference to the book of Acts regarding diet.......my point being that to be completely pro life you really would have to be a vegetarian and you used the bible in defense rather implying that is you guideline......and who are you addressing the pro abortion comments to...........if being pro abortion means that women have the right to decide what happens to their bodies and whether they continue with a pregnancy that they dont want, is critical to their health, is the product of rape or some form of abuse or has severe disabilities then I am pro abortion

I find it strange that in the main you are all men arguing the point here.

Have you changed your mind about ABORTION?

i'm not after a discussion on the rights or wrongs on abortion, what i'm asking is whether or not your views have evolved over time.. perhaps leaving the watchtower was enough to allow your true feelings on abortion to find expression.

maybe abortion is one of those subjects where you still find yourself in agreement with your old jw self.

did becoming a mother change your perspective in any way or solidify your views?.

I have questions for those who strongly argue the case against abortion even to the point of calling it pre meditated murder.....

What percentage of your life choices are you prepared to hand over to others to make the decision for you?

What rules would you impose on mothers who choose to carry a child to term, in relation to the activities they choose, the food they put into their bodies etc..........because if these could be proven to be harmful to the baby they are carrying would it require prosecution of the pregnant mother?

If your own daughter was given the choice of her own life over the child she was carrying......which would you choose for her?

Do you support the use of contraception...........as some forms of contraception cause a fertilised egg to be wasted/aborted and others prevent the opportunity for life?

IMO for abortion to be classed as pre meditated murder it would require a woman deciding to become pregnant so she could abort the baby.

Women get pregnant.....fact. They can be raped and get pregnant. They can use contraception and get pregnant. Are you suggesting that the only time that a women has sex is on an occassion when she is happy to become pregnant and carry a child to term........because it would seem that this would be the only possible sure fire way of preventing unwanted pregnancies?
