Watchtower misquotes really make me mad !
by BluesBrother inthe feb 1st wt has a banner headline on the cover "must we always tell the truth" - inside it says (p1) "' i hate lies and i hate being lied to" exclaimed a 16 year old girl" ... so , o.k.
we must expect that anyone printing such things must themselves be absolutely honest and truthful .. so why do they use misleading quotations that are, practice, nothing short of lies?
many have been documented but this one came my way recently while using another thread .. the book "let your kingdom come" has an appendix dealing with babylonian and jewish chronology .

Misquotes are bad especially when out to the Bible, Rev says anyone adding or taking away, we all know what it says from there.

DOES ANYONE STILL NOT CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS???
by chuckyy injust wondering if anyone still does not celebrate xmas since leaving jws.....or like me do you think"to hell with it", and join in the festivities.

No I don't either, never had any meaning for me before I was a witness and still don't now. My wife gets a little upset with me but she understands why not, we have mutual respect for each other, she also has about 65K worth of jewerly on just 6 rings and many a celebrating women would do with away with HOHOHO for what she possesses. Besides isn't there enough senseless killing of trees on mags and books, why should we continue to kill the forests? Save the trees.

How do I deal with my hatred?
by nicolaou ini know that thousands of you have gone through the same thing i'm facing but right now it doesn't help.
i know that some of you have faced much worse - losing family through the blood issue or having to deal with abuse and i know that in comparison my problems may seem not so severe but as bad as it sounds knowing all that just doesn't matter right now.. it started yesterday and there's no stopping it, the official shunning.
one member of the family right now will see the month end with me losing my sisters, brother and my mum.. i love them and i know that in a sense they are victims too but i just cannot reach them.

I too use to hate them, then it started to fade, we are inheritantly human and want fellowship. It is not easy to deal with it and that is why they use it. I once read an email that talked of a Indian Chief with his grandson, he was telling his grandson that he has two wolves that reside in him. One that is tame, gentle, kind and very friendly, the other is ravenous, angry, full of hatred and wants to kill. The little boy asked his grandfather, which one wins? The grandfather says, "the one that I feed".
Let hatred alond and saturate yourself in finding yourself within God's love, not the anger and hatred that this is and has fostered for so many. Let it go or CAN destroy you, as Paul said in Ephesians 4: 26b,27
Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, 27 for anger gives a foothold to the devil.
Let it go or they win! Pray about it like you never prayed before.

I've recently made the decision
by Polishedgloss inwhich i think you guys call a fader...so far i'm pretty much got away with it.
my close family are in the truth love them to bits and i seriously dont want to alienate them- my story is a positive one, they have accepted that i dont go to meetings anymore and although they arent pleased they accept my viewpoint.
i am not a bitter ex-witness, i enjoyed my time meeting people while i was a witness although a lot shunned me after and a few years before i went 'public'

Feels good not to be judged, feels good to be able vent some of pent up emotions and feelings. Nice thing about posting unless you are displaying your actual photo, you can relax with your postings and express yourself without worry. Enjoy the forum for what it is, a haven from the harshness you have experienced elsewhere, people just being honest, come what may. Take care and wish you the best.

Yes indeed MrsJones5, it does, and so does the book of Galatians. Just too many scriptures that don't jive with the anointed and the 144,000. I still believe Jah has something that we can' t figure out and we are all going to be surprised
1 Cor 2: 7-9 7 No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 However, as it is written:
"No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him" [b] —vss 16 16 For “who has come to know the mind of Jehovah, that he may instruct him?” But we do have the mind of Christ.

Stumbling block?
by Junction-Guy inwell this should be my last post before i go to bed, im well past my bedtime.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------you remember back in your jw days when the wt society's publications rambled on and on about stumbling people, you know they would always say "dont do this, you could stumble someone, dont do that you could stumble someone" but whenever someone stumbled you they would reply "thats silly, you cant be stumbled, it's your fault for letting yourself be stumbled" doesnt it amaze you how they can talk out of both sides of their mouths?

It is actually the words of Christ in Matt 18, about stumbling others.

One I just read yesterday in Romans but correlates to John 10:16
16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
Romans 8:9-11
9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you.And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
I was taught for 22 years that only 144,000 can have God's Spirit IN them, the rest well, we were not so fortunate. Jesus said the other sheep are his, but you can't be unless you have God's Spirit in you, not on you. If not them you cannot be of the other sheep.
Hey there not my words.
