  Blondie is right. Usually only old single pioneer women kept notes on that crap.
  When I'd tell an CO, DO or some ancient "visiting Bethelite" I enjoyed their talk (as a way to make contacts and drop my name for promotion) they'd try to trick me by asking, "What point did you like about it?"
  My standard reply was, "They way you tied the counsel together and applied it to us living in the last days. We must strive to keep on the watch, as the end draws near."
  They would shake their heads approvingly, and be so happy!
  What bool sheet. but it worked EVERY DAMN time. What fool!

  Elders and shepherding calls

  for all the years you were in the borg, i was wondering how many of you received a friendly shepherding call from the elders?

  .

  that was part of their responsibility as elders but in over 30 years i never received one and i found that was the case with many in the cong.. did you regularly receive a visit?

  I received 3.
  once after i moved to a new cong. 2nd after I was married. 3rd after I moved back to my original cong.
  Stopped turning in false service reports. My grandmother died. I have been to one meeting in 2 years...the memorial, because my parents asked me to. No visits.
  Hmmmmm. Guess they think I'm strong. Or I've moved again.

  I know in his induction speech to the R&R Hall of Fame, he used some covert "witness speak."
  My friends and I used to make up gossip about celebs that were spotted at California district conventions. Once we said Marylin Manson and Jerry Seinfeld (sic) were at one in L.A.
  most dubs crave mainstream acceptance, so a lot of the fools bought it.

  i couldn't find if this was a previous topic, so i apologize in advance if it has been posted.. i am 28 years old, i have been df'd for 7-8 of those.

  my parents were converted when i was 2 years old by the whole family on my mother's side.

  however, about 5-10 years into it, all of that side of the family were df'd or da'd because they wanted to have sex with multiple people or smoke, drink, gamble, cuss, or whatever else they wanted.

  Yeah. I made the mistake and admitted cause I was a Servant.
  They asked what I did. Penthouse Forum type questions. Since I knew the drill, I was vague and acted ashamed(key). They let me off with reproof.
  But since there were like only 3 MS...I was back soon. They needed more whipping boys.

  JW dress fads

  i was just looking at the revelation book and some of the illustrations reminded me of some of the dress fads which i have seen growing up as a jw.

  what fads did you see at the halls?.

  the one that got me to thinking was the sun dress on page 51. .

  I had two outfits...A black suit with a blue shirt and red tie for Sunday and talks. And a Black sportcoat with khaki pants for service and TMS.

  well other then going out that is....lol...i was the one, i would say 8 times out of 10, that i was stuck talking to the men!

  Gawd, I hated FS. The heat, the cold, the dogs. But of course I had to show a good example being an elder's son. Being a born-in, I was forced to peddle books since I could read, and memorize a presentation, and then using the same presentation for every book or tract or mag untill my late 20's. Of course I lied about my hours, to keep my MS posistion. I never averaged more than 3hrs, but I always put in the national average times 1.5. I can honestly say, I went in FS many a time with a hangover. Oh yeah.
