If Republicans think people should be rewarded for their hard work, why not raise the minimum wage?

I vote Libertarian, as it happens. I think Republicans are greedy corporate scum who live off the masses. I think Democrats aren't much different. I think Americans are stupid to constantly bitch about oppression and then vote for the oppressors.
I disagree slightly with the Libertarians -- I do think we need a safety net for our poorest citizens and for children. I'm a peacenik and always have been.
Well, I'm disappointed, to say the least.

Poll worker -- $9.00/hr. 16-hour day. Lots of fun. Nice paycheck when it comes in a couple of weeks.
Plus, the polling place was a church. Take that, wtbts!

Do you think Canada would take me? I'm kind of old and broken down, but also kind of cute and I don't cause any trouble. Maybe they'd let me live there. I don't want to live in a country where the voters are that stupid. Maybe some other country with more sensible policies would let me in. . .

Do you have hope for mankind?
by noontide inlet me start off by acknowledging that my current mood/thoughts reflect the fact that ive watched a few documentaries recently (blackfish, surviving progress, etc.
) and they got me thinking about the future of mankind.
mainly the question, do i hold out hope for the future of mankind?.

I agree. It is quite possible that some loony running a country with nuclear power might just fire a nuclear weapon off, starting a really bad bad war. Or, some disease like ebola could cause massive death around the world. Most likely scenario is that humans will just keep polluting the earth until it just can't sustain life any more. How long? A few more generations of it and the world is doomed!
All I can do is vote, and contribute as little as possible to the pollution myself.
It is rather discouraging to see how fast the Islamic State nutsos have moved, one possible future is that religious extremists will get power over more and more of the world.

by poopsiecakes inso what are you doing to enjoy yourself?
doesn't have to be for anyone around you, or have anything to do with jw world.

Oh, forgot to mention Dr. Who. Although they could stand to get rid of their head writer, still I like the show even with the bad writing.

I had those my last few years as a JW. Very scary, but couldn't move or scream or anything. Was told it was demons. Once I left the wtbts I never had them again. Could be my age, I just grew out of it. But I think it was the relief of getting out of the wtbts.
