New Corporate Smoking Policy - Need some suggestions.

i work for a fairly large corporation.

our company is establishing a new tobacco policy where smokers and tobacco users are no longer allowed to use tobacco in any form, either cigarettes, cigars, pipes, chew, or snuff, anywhere on company property.

this includes inside or outside the building, the parking lot, or even in your own personal vehicle while in the parking lot.

There are plenty of nicotine patches, gums, inhalers, lozenges etc. Hopefully the smoking or tobacco using employees will find another job. It's one thing to ban smoking on company property but to try to control peoples lives when they are off the clock is insane and overstepping. If the employees don't pitcha fit they will continue with even more intrusive policies. Has anyone ever worked with a vegan or vegatarien? Don't you enjoy thier unsolicited input on whatever you decided to have for lunch? What if enough of them start making company policy and forbid any animal or meat products on company property?

I had an instructor in college that did just that and he was a complete assclown about it. He died of cancer about five years ago.

(I am not laughing........no really it just looks like it, but I am not)

My mother in law is tired of taking her goofball dog to the vet so she grabs a pair of pliers and yanks them out herself. The quills have an antiseptic compound on them so infection rarely happens.

Ever blown-off your non-JW family due to cult dynamics or whateva?

i shouldn't have done this, but i did it, and don't know if i regret it or not.

i guess i am in deeply narcissistic mode or something.. the plan was to meet my aunties for dinner here in my town, but i started projecting the night before about their motives for both suddenly being here, one announced (and one unannounced until the last minute).

i suspect it has something to do with my jw grandma's declining health, but who knows?

So many christian religions have the motto What would Jesus do? It is very obvious why the JW's do not use the WWJD question. They would have to change so many practices and behaviors they would not know where to start.

I think all of us should put the thumb screws to our JW families and completely avoid them. We need to make our parents decide just how important thier mind controlling cult is. Is it important enough to never see your grandchildren again? Make them decide and take back some control, stop being victims and get proactive.

How do you explain to an eight year old child all of the twisted psychotic dynamics of JW's and non JW's?

My daughter was balling her heart out and asked me if she did something bad because she was not invited to go to Disneyland with all of her cousins. That tore my heart out and got me pissed off worse then I have been in years.

When they start F'ing with our kids mind's they are going to hear the gates of hell swing open.

My JW mom and family wanted a family picture at a professional studio. She asked me what would be a good date for me/us. I told her to pick any date because we will not be there. Of course she was shocked had the audacity to ask why. So I explained to her that my wife and I are not going to play the convenient/selective family members and be part of conditional love mind games.

This comes just a couple weeks after I find out that my JW parents are taking all of thier grandchildren with the exception of my daughter to Disneyland this summer. This was supposed to be a secret but my niece leaked it to my daughter. Now my daughter is devastated and still is not old enough to understand all the toxic sick dynamics involved.

So I dropped that little bomb on my mom and what it did to my daughter. I told her that she could shove her mind games and toxic cult up her ass and that it will be a very long time before she will have any contact with us or her grand daughter.

So that family portrait is going to look a little goofy with only two of her three kids and thier families.

I am tired of always having to give in and try to play the meek "non-believer" knowing that I am regarded as the black sheep just so my daughter can see her grandparents. That has all changed now and the gloves have come off.

I call it a reverse disfellowshipping, a taste of thier own medicine.

Which is it going to be? That is why I shake my head and laugh at most progressives, they spend more time fighting with each other and offering contradicting philosophies then acting. Most of thier dynamics are counter productive and they come off looking very phony and quite often hypocritical.

Solar power seems to be everyones darling but it requires alot of mining to get selenium and silicon and the refining process is very toxic. Not to mention how many regions on earth it is completely worthless to try to use.

Wind turbines are clean but they kill birds and are an eyesore.

Soybeans make a great diesel alternative but growing them impacts the environment.

Hydro electric dams are clean but disprupt the salmon migration.

Nuclear power emits zero carbon but produces radioactive waste.

Hydrogen feul cells are emit zero carbon but he manufacturing process is not clean.

You can not have your cake and eat it to. Unless we go back comletely to the stone age someone is going to be bitching and moaning about every alternative that is offered.

Enviromentalists appear to be thier own worse enemy.

) i actually missed most of it because i went for some long walks :) but i was present during the last talk, which was given by a speaker from bethel.

It will never be stopped because that is the centerpiece of the whole cult. They would cancel the service meeting and ministry school if there was no need for field service. It would be harder to maintain complete control of the minions with only two meetings per week.

I really hope biodiesel becomes popular. Maybe we can get more farmers back to work growng a profitable crop and stop relying on dictators for oil. It is still not as clean as some may think but much better then petro. If I had a diesel I would most certainly making my own fuel to avoid the taxes if for no other reason.

My electrical power is solar in the form of hydroelectric and Dams do not give off any pollutants.

BTW, biodiesel is not quite as simple as pouring deep fat oil in the tank. It has to processed to raise the octane and remove the glycerin, waxes and food particulates.
