I don't think Cynthia left the rights to anyone. And Commentary Press was created for the sole purpose of printing COC. Am I right? -

God is a killer, NOT a murderer
by Slave4_38y inthis is not from wts, but it could well have been.
it explains with numerous scriptures quoted why it is impossible for god to break one of his commandments (thou shall not kill).
it is a erroneous translation which should have been: do not put anyone to death without cause.

It is a erroneous translation which should have been: “Do not put anyone to death without cause.” In other words, if the murder was justified as in God's case, he merely killed. And he's allowed to kill humans, because humans are sinners. It's their birthright for crying out loud! :-(
Apologies to my fellow ex-jw members but the bible made me an atheist . . .

God answers prayer of paralyzed little boy
by Simon inthe answer was "no".

obviously it's the onion so it's satirical but it got me thinking how the religious view prayer and god.

To quote Edward Current - "If you pray for something and god thinks you should have it, you will get what you want every single time. Prayer has a 100% success rate." -

Welcome BlackWolf. I’m sorry to hear about your predicament. You should always remember that no dark patch is permanent and like Faye said, your life will be amazing once you get through this. In the meantime, may I suggest you take up Geocaching as a hobby. My two teenage daughters love it. You get to go outdoors, learn new things about people and places and have fun fun fun! And you might make a new friend or two. Register for free at www.geocaching.com and download free software from Google Play – I suggest c:geo from the c:geo team or Geocaching from Groundspeak.
Oh and keep on posting – it’s therapeutic! -

An excellent (and funny) example of Cognitive Bias
by Slave4_38y ini saw this and immediately thought about how this relates to us.
once you've learned how to ride the ttatt-bicycle it's almost impossible to ride the "truth"-bicycle again.

What triggered your doubts / awakening?
by Tornintwo ini am sort of new here, used a different username for a while but things got 'difficult' at home so i've since been lurking.... what i would be really interested to know, if you don't mind sharing, is what it was that triggered your doubts and initial research which led to awakening, was it a bad experience, injustice, changed doctrine?
for me, it was seeing mistreatment of young ones in the congregation, they're under so much pressure and as soon as they go even slightly astray they are shunned, either informally (as bad associations which pushes them further into the 'world') or formally - with elders dying to throw the book at them so they even lose their family.... ...then reading about child abuse issues in the press.... ...which led me to silentlambs.
...then jw facts, this forum and coc, wham!

I was born with doubts! As a three year old toddler I could not fathom the idea of a "loving" god having a disobedient child pelted with stones until death occurs. I tried to believe the lies for forty years. A couple of months back I came across an internet meme that I think was spawned by joe134cd: What's the between jw. org and lds. org? lds. org has a extra letter! I immediately logged on to the lds website and it hit me like a ton of bricks! The "truth" is actually a lie.
