If I were pregnant, I wouldn't even leave the house. It would be so embarassing.

Awesome, I thought for a minute that someone had hacked your account.
You know you are totally going against the society's direction, though. I bet somewhere there is a troll reading this and just itching to give you counsel about that.

How ethical is it to sow DOUBT in the minds of sincere Jehovah's Witnesses?
by nicolaou inwe know that we can't always take the direct approach and we know that even a short, reasonable discussion is often out of the question with jw's we may love dearly so we often try to place a little doubt in their minds.
we want them to start questioning cherished beliefs.. is this fair of us?
are we placing our our own agendas ahead of their needs?

does anyone have any suggestions on how to wean myself, and also to be able to keep up on the news here, without spending alot of time surfing?
Sure...cancel your home internet account and only limit yourself to viewing the internet during your lunch break at work or at a library.

Does the news still scare anyone else?
by YoungAmerican ini was just wondering how many of you still get a quezy feeling in your stomach after hearing someone on the news use the phrase "peace and security" or after reports on the news of all the large earthquakes that have been reported this last week or so?
i know we can all rationalize that there are always earthquakes and wars etc.... but i swear, no matter how hard i try to shake the sick feeling in my stomach when i hear all this stuff i can't seem to do it.
i still have visions in my head of what armagedon will be like from all the pictures i grew up seeing in the publications, talk about scarred for life.

or at least find a more balanced, less sensationalized news source.
Yeah...like the Daily Show, or The Colbert Report.

Point out biblical principles JW's omit to follow
by JH injesus said these words:.
"if you desire to be perfect," replied jesus, "go and sell all that you have, and give to the poor, and you shall have wealth in heaven; and come, follow me.".
i never heard elders ask jw's to reach out into their abundance and help poor jw's....have you?.

How about that prohibition in Leviticus (?) on wearing two different types of fabric together. All those brothers wearing wool over coats with courderoy (sp) pants should be reproved.

a mere man who wipes his behind every morning just like you!
How do you know they wipe? Maybe they don't...that's why they are so uptight. Anal retentive, maybe.
Anyway, on topic...it is at least as ethical as what the JW's do to people who are happy in their own religions. Factor in the dangerous parts of this cult, and yes...it is more ethical to sow those doubts than it is to keep silent.

Sit them down to learn how to deal with it...share a TV episode of "Bibleman" with them.
I saw an old episode of MadTV the other day. They were doing a skit called "Bible Dude" which is a spoof of "Bibleman" from one of those Christian TV networks. I went through the satellite guide for that show and found it on TBN and set it to record.
Wow...if they had commercials on TBN, they would probably run the above pj ad during the break. It fits right in.
It's a show from about 5 years ago for kids that features a super hero (Batman style) that has light saber battles with demons (who look like the old Batman Joker character) and teaches the kids how to deal with things like bullying by turning the other cheek (a$$ cheek, maybe).
I just have to say that any "persecution" that fundimental Christians get...well, it's their own fault for being so weird. This goes for JW's, too.
Makes me glad that the GB doesn't make a TV show, though.

I finally took my stand.
by Orgull ini just missed two meetings for the first time in five years.. this past week i went "on vacation", housesitting for relatives nearby.
i told my bookstudy overseer i'd be "away", even though i was only a twenty minute drive from the kingdom hall.
i spent the entire week away from my insane family, away from the meetings and away from my "brothers and sisters".. it felt great.. coming home felt... not so great.. but the first brick in my fade has been laid.

"Even the longest journey begins with a single step."
Wasn't it CT Russell who said that? (gag)"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" - was said by Confucius.
Ah...so one of the earliest examples of typical WT plagiarism.

Woohoo, Orgull!
Oh, and remember this powerful little word:
NO
Use it whenever the brothers try to volunteer you for anything. And don't elaborate on the excuses. They don't need to know your business. Just say "No, I can't right now." If they persist, say "I'm busy" or "It's personal."
