Did anyone have the notion to read the follow-up article? There's a whole section on the "problem of pets" where the WT does what it does best: highlight the negative aspects and minimize the positive. Sick. They like putting their spin on a matter and then passing it off as a "conscience" matter. No pharisaic rules for me, please! Yet another reason to be done with that group!

Here's my tip for surviving it: Don't go. That's worked well for me for the past 2 years. Don't worry about the hounders. Just tell them to bug off (in a polite but firm way, of course). Play the depression card, if you need an excuse. I'm sure you feel depressed about living a lie, don't you?

my wife (active witness) and i (inactive, haven't attended in over a year) just got memberships to the ymca today.
it's the only fitness place in town with a swimming pool.

it's nearly midnight, and all this week we're doing some after-hours work.
we have to do this when the agents are off the systems, thus after 11pm.
hopefully we'll finish it up here before 2am.
It's 12:50 am here...and I'm in the middle of my lunch break. I work the night shift. Woo hoo.
And, I just found out that there is a new study out linking working the night shift with cancer. No kidding. The WHO is going to label night shift work as a possible carcinogen. I don't have time to put a link to the article in this post right now, but I'm sure cnn.com has something on it.
there is a house in my neighborhood that has to hold the record for christmas decorations in their yard.
the neighborhood i live in has one road in and out so we can't avoid this eyesore.. i swear, they have every inflatable, plastic, lit up, wire formed, animated yard decoration that has ever been manufactured.
it looks like k-mart threw up in their yard.. they have enough lights on the house, bushes, trees, eaves, roof, fence to signal the mothership into a safe landing from any galaxy in the universe.

I'll share this story with you all, since we're on the subject. We have a small town in our county with two traffic lights. Nearby one of those traffic lights are two houses which seem to be locked in a competition with each other as to who can have the most inflatables and other decorations in their yard and on their houses. So imagine that...two houses dominating the block with tackiness...and it's not limited to Christmas. They have inflatables for easter and halloween as well. Eyesore galore.
imho....it all needs to go.

from the saudies, to the people in irag, iran and anywhere else our sons will need to be sent.. our current president claims he is influenced along with the former prime minister of england by religious beliefs.. there is the huge evangelical influence that got bush and the mess he made who put them in to begin with.. we have the jw's causing absolute havic in anyone's lives connected with this stupidity.. it goes on and on and on.

The real learning that does take place at the Kingdom Hall happens after a dub finally realizes s/he is in a cult. Then s/he can sit back and observe the meetings for what they really are.
Besides that, I did learn some good public speaking techniques.
