  had a dream last night about my self righteous step dad's jw ramblings...talking about things that didn't make any logical sense.....then i woke up, looked at my clock and it read 6:07 on the dot.....just thought it was kinda funny.

  What do you do with your time???

  well, now that you are out of the organization, what do you do with the time you gained?

  let's see how much time we gained.. assuming you were a publisher you spend at least 2 hours in service 3 saturdays a month plus the service meeting and drive time to and from the kh, let's call that 10 hours a month.. 5 meetings a week plus "fellowshipping" before, after and drive time, let's call that another 40 hours a month.. then there was meeting prep.

  another 8 hours a month.

  good thing we don't have a phone in the bedroom!

  The original sin

  this is a question i've had for a long time.. according to the biblical account, adam and eve's sin was to eat fruit from the forbidden tree.. now, ordinarily, when we get caught doing something "wrong," we try to hide the "offending" member (the child tries to hide his hand that has the 'stolen' cookie; we hurriedly try to pull our pants back on when mom walks in unexpectedly while we're masturbating, etc.)..

  so, if the "sin" of adam and eve was eating a forbidden fruit, then why wasn't their first impulse to hide their hands?

  or to wipe off their mouths?

  By the way, Jesus quoted from the Genesis account. Since he was Wisdom the Master Worker in heaven before miraculously transferred to earth, he was surely there to review the results of the original sin.

  The only way this argument can be true is if you presuppose that Jesus was actually who he said he was, and that the genesis account happened as written..... the only way to prove that is by using the very document (bible) that makes the statements in question. It doesn't work logically. Basically you are saying that the Genesis account is true because it is in the bible. Weak argument at best.

  Why do people believe in religion?

  i still have a hard time wrapping my brain around this.

  for example why do so many believe in the bible when ample proof exists that negats its validaty?

  why not believe in zeus or jupitor, etc.

  People beleive what they want to beleive...If everyone beleived what facts indicated, then McDonalds would be out of business and George Bush wouldn't have been elected in the first place.
