i dont post on here that often but look everyday.. i used to be an elder and left the witnesses 5 years ago.
my wife left 6 years ago.. in my opinion my wife and i have had the best 5 years of our lives because we have been married 28 years.. after 28 years of marriage she sent me a text you need to go home there is a letter on our bed.
in the letter she clearly states she has left me because she does not love me in the real way.

My parents split after 31 years marriage. But i had always known it was never going to last.
Basically my mum said she could no longer do the marriage thing anymore.
They seperated for 6 months then tried it again it just didn't work.
I can't offer any advice but i do like what garybuss has said.
Though also i left my hubby in 1999 after 4 years marriage and we go back together in 2003 the best thing we did was to seperate we are better people now.

No i did it first.
I stopped having anything to do with my JW friends before i left.
It was just easier that way.
Though at the same time i was picking up 'worldly' friends.

we actually knew each other before knowing we both posted here on jwd of course, being part of the same congregation and living in the same city and all.

i am so angry and since i am some of this may not make sense.
i have a sister in law who has recently taken up the pentecostal religion.
before this she was devil/goth child.
So how in the heck would do you know what the "true" religion is?! My attitude is this: Believe what you want to believe and stop judging others for what they believe.
My thoughts exactly how do you know what is the true religion.
Anyway i hope it all works out with your dad.
Why does religion have to do with so much of families lives.

Sounds to me like he has his own doubts, and is half-wondering, half-hoping that you can confirm them.
You're already D-F'ed, you have nothing else to lose. Why not take him up on his offer, just request to talk to him, not giving a topic ahead of time.
Remember that his full-on apostate shields will be in full force, so start with something easy to agree on - lack of love, when that should be the organization's hallmark; inconsistencies in the blood transfusion / fractions issue; injustices in judicial cases, etc.

Met them as well the highlight of my life
as i have stated in previous posts, i absolutely hated field service.
hated it.
i dreaded it with a passion and couldn't wait to be done.
Not really.
But i did enjoy going out with different ones and having a chat not JW related.
And it was the only time i got one on one time with my dad too.
Also, a side question: did anyone actually like reading the Watchtower and/or Awake?
I did like some of the subjects that they brought up when i went home for a few weeks my dad had left a few out i had a quick read (whilst trying not to throw up) but there was some interesting stuff.

whenever i hear the word jehovah i still feel warm and fuzzy.
he was the god that i spent hours talking to in prayer, petitioning, thanking, pleading with.
he was my father, the creator, the one who we would worship for eternity.. jesus on the other hand i never spoke or prayed to.
I never loved either of them.
But now i have a kind of respect for what Jesus did for us but that is about it.

this is one of the sadest days in my life, my beloved husband marco passed away this morning at 5:15 am.. it has been a dreadful day.
but my dear friend was with most of the day while we went togerther to make funeral arrangements.. that was really hard on me.
i have done nothing but cry and cry all day, i finally fell asleep a few hours ago while my friend diane was here and she let me sleep.
