  At what age would you dicuss homosexuality with your children?

  on recent a thread a poster here discussed about having discovered his daughter was gay.

  whilst reading this my 11 year old son was looking over my shoulder, and reading along with me, some of the discussion was quite adult but respectful .

  so i began thinking what age would you discuss these things?

  Personally it should be talked about from a young age. Not in depth but how people love differently. Gradually over the years you can explain more.

  For my daughter (9) has picked up a few things mainly she plays the sims and that you can have two men or two women fall in love.

  For her it is different as we have no gay friends. Though i have explained that either two men or two women can love each other and be a family just like hers.

  Also just on the weekend the little girl from accross the road (she is 8)came over and they had been playing and when she left she was talking about how they were role playing(like having a different name) and that she was a lesbian !!!!!!

  Vasectomy Horror Stories- Have Any? Or Normal Vasectomy Stories ?

  well, i know you all pretty well now after 9 months of being on board , so i feel o.k.

  to approach this subject.

  this subject is a pretty touchy one for most of us men, especially those of us that have been put under the " knife" , and got to the point where we did not want any more children.

  I have seen two Vasectomys both very different.

  The first one was with a previous partner who had already had 2 children to different mother and i didn't want to be another.

  His was a visit to the doctors gave him a valium to take a few hours before hand went into a different office laid down some local anasethic(sp?) cortise (sp?) did each side and all done

  Spent the weekend on the lounge with a bag of peas and was ok after that. The cost NOTHING!!!!!!! We were on a health care card and here it entitles you free drs visit. ( this dr now retired)

  My hubby got it done about a year ago i wanted to go back to the previous dr but as he retired we couldn't there is a clinic that does it and it would have cost us over $600 t get it done.

  So we looked else where and we found a dr locally who did it it took a little time from the initial consultation (cost $75 got back from medicare $65)to when he got it done i think now they want to to make sure.

  Anyway the day came hubby was very nervous but i was by his side. I think he was more embarssased by the nurse that was there.

  So the time came local again but this time the dr took about a good 5 cm and tied both ends from both.

  Bag of peas all weekend ( hubby was skeptical that a bag of peas would not do)

  Tender for another week fine about a week latter.

  Total cost for the actual vas $400 got back from medicare $200

  Personally it was well worth it. We are much better now and that the pill was starting to mess with my body and head.

  I know what happened and it was something that just got out of control.

  Christmas Card exchange?

  we did this in the past and it was such fun to get all the great cards.. .

  Over this last week i have recieved many cards.

  My daughter has been very entruiged(sp?) from where they have all come from.

  So we have gone to goole earth and looked up adressess and she is amazed that they have come from all over.

  Thank you BEM for your hard work in organising this list.

  i'd buy you a green dress, but not a real green dress, that's cruel.

  i'm paying bills...is it my imagination or do they seem to grow right before the holidays?

  santa should visit parents, first, in early november, with a check!.

  I don't think a million would make much difference.

  yeah it would be great but i think you would have more people having their hand out more so if you won it.

  You would appreciate it more if you worked hard for it.

  Work Christmas Party!!!!!!!! What are you doing????????

  this year we have a themed christmas party.. gangster/mafia...... what to wear.. was going to wear a flapper dress but hey who has a body to wear one of those...lol...... so its going to be a gangster moll outfit.

  hubby he is wearing a black suit with a black shirt and white tie.. will post pics of the night (16/12).. i have rumours that they give out 'trophies' for things that have happened throughout the year or if you have a 'quality' ( i know one girl who is very chatty and i think they are going to give her a set of those chatty teeth that you wind up).

  so what are you doing for your works christmas party???????.

  Everyone one has different styles of christmas parties.

  One of the places that i worked a few years ago had a great one for the family there were endless activites for the kids unlimited food and soft drinks, it was a great day.

  I too am self employed (as well as being employed) last year we were invited to a business who was our clients christmas party it was great, so generous of them. I think the wife felt sorry for us being in a new town and not knowing anyone.

  I was even thinking of starting a secret santa where i now work.

  But i may have left it too late.

  Will ask about it when i go back to work on the w/e.

  I am looking forward to it i find it gives you the chance to talk to fellow work mates out of their work enviroment. As we are not allowed talking well limited any way heck we can't even have staff drinks at the end of the night.

  my son got a response back from his paranoid witness mother.

  as nice as he was , she couldn't help but try to make him feel guilty !

  the ex-wife says

  Would it make you happy if I just stopped ( being a witness) ? I wonder, would I have the same morals ? Was my life all in vain ? Tell me then, why didn't I stop ? I had so many chances, my mom was very sick, sad to say and took her own life . I had a very unhappy childhood. I would never go back to that . I had a very unhappy marriage for 19 years . But I did recieve 3 very valuable jewels ( the children ). And I tried, but if it never worked out , I never looked back .

  You know IMO just not being a JW doesn't mean that you have to be a bad person ( as in morals, lifestyle). There are lots of people in this world who have come from bad backgrounds and they are good people. Its history and how you deal with it and get on with your life than to dwell on it that is your own fault. Deal with it.

  Again you have a truely remarkable son!
