having had a week away from home, i'm astonished at the way some posters have started to behave.
this site seems suddenly to be full of vitriol.. now i don't pretend to be every one's favourite pussy cat, and i will always be as outspoken as i choose to be, but i do not attack people personally, i only attack what they believe if i am convinced that their beliefs are anti-social or detrimental.
i don't attack the person propagating that belief.
OK, Nogs,
But, you owe me a beer at least, are you coming to my barbie in July, you aren't that far away!
Mike.
lets assume that some time has now gone by since you made that final decision to stop associating with jws.
you are now your own person, the worlds your oyster, let the good times roll!.
still there seems to be a hole in your life, an emotional gap as it were, a feeling of loss that borders on depression.. whats happening, of course, is that despite your decision to bale out of wt ways, the old patterns of thinking are still hanging in there and influencing your life.
Tina,

that got you to read this!
what country are you from?.
i find it encouraging to see where different posters are from in the world, especially for me, if you are from the uk or europe.
He was Ron Hooper, he died in 84. A great man!
He was posted by the WT to: (in reverse order) Dawley, Bridgnorth, Matlock, Gosport, Fareham, Weston super Mare, Yeovil, Feltham London.
He was a kind, generous man who never asked for a penny.

Dig,
I spent several years in Aqueduct, Telford, before returning to WSM. H2O's Radar came from there too. My Pop used to be PO of Dawley and Bridgnorth.
Mike.
PS, I've been to Molyneux to support Pompey. Also used to work for Sharps bedrooms in Chapel Ash, WV.
yerusalyim.
there is more of heaven and earth than is dreamt of in your philosphy, horatio.. dickens: a tale of two cities.
"there are more things in heaven and earth, horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy" are the words of hamlet from hamlet, act ii, scene v, by william shakespeare - a tale of two cities does not come into it, though i can imagine sidney carton uttering them in some parallel universe.. hope this helps.. --.
"A Tale of Two Cities does not come into it, though I can imagine Sidney Carton uttering them in some parallel universe".
Well said, Focus, it is a far, far better thing that you do than you have ever done before.

i'm not sure if this was posted before, but i found the following quote from the wts media website.
i thought the whole article was really ironic.. .
jehovah's witnesses firmly believe that god will accomplish his purposes for the future at his own predetermined time, on a day and hour that he has not revealed to humans.
"International law recognizes a citizen's right to freedom of thought and belief"
The line above also appears in the article by JW's, re the State.
Pity they don't apply it to themselves.

Have we spoken before? I used to live in Telford.

Now we have a situation arise where some of our stronger ladies are being maligned as uncaring and bigoted. Worse, some of these personal attacks are followed up by: "I don't expect that you will bother to reply", "I know what you will say" or some other comment that is specifically designed to restrict the accusee's reply. A real WT type of gagging!
I'm not so naive as to expect everyone to be full of sweetness and light, I've come across some pretty heavy criticism myself (including being labelled a heartless "curd") - whatever that is - and I do enjoy some cut and thrust in our dialogues, but I just gotta say, we can't go on with the personal insults that are happening right now.
Perhaps the insulters should stop a moment and realise that every time they insult someone, they alienate themselves from the dozens of people who hold the insulted one in high regard.
I had to say all that!
Englishman.
as most of you know i am new to the world of the internet.
