  does anyone take any responsibility for what happened in 1975?

  maybe i should say what didn't happen in 1975!.

  i mentioned 1975 to my still devout but not so fundamental jw mum.

  Right on, Java!

  I was pulled out from school 5 months before my 'O levels', a very basic requirement in the UK then, a brother had a job for me in a factory.

  Course, I went willingly along with it, after all, with Armageddon being just around the corner, what was the point of any more education?

  The stupid part was that all my family were in professional occupations, I eventually acheived the dizzy heights of being a lorry driver before deciding that I could do much better things with my life.

  There's Another Lady In My Life.

  this summer i will spend a lot of my free time aboard her, even my local pub carries her name, the waverley.

  now tell me, is sailing on a fine old paddler like this better than sunday afternoons at the watchtower study?.

  How a jW can 'get away with' taking blood

  all you have to do is pay some (phony) penance and a variation of the following:.

  day 1 in hospital - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -.

  You didn't mention that UK hospitals sometimes offer their patients Black Pudding for breakfast.

  Here's the recipe:

  Black Pudding
  Ingredients:
  1/2 lb of pigs liver
  1 1/2 lb of lard, chopped
  15 cups of pigs blood (no drinking this while you cook)
  1 lb of bread crumbs
  2 1/2 cups of water (use the water left over from cooking the liver)
  1 cup of rolled oats
  1 onion, chopped
  1/2 tsp allspice
  1 tsp sage
  1 tsp thyme
  Salt and pepper
  Poach the liver in boiling salted water. Drain it and keep 2 1/2 cups of the water. Chop up the liver.
  Mix all the ingredients in a bowl.

  Pack into an oiled heatproof bowl. Cover with wax paper and aluminum (or aluminium if you're from Ireland) foil. Tie the foil down securely over the bowl.

  Steam for 4-5 hours. Remove it from the bowl and let sit until cold. Cut into disks about 3/4 inch thick and 2 inches round, like cookies. Fry until crisp on both sides.

  Serve with bacon, sausages, fried eggs, grilled or fried tomatoes.

  however i sent two e-mails to my x's mother and she replied with some trivia the other day.

  there was, however, one non-trivial point she made.. "you know the rules.

  Most Hypocritical Act Witnessed As A JW

  what was the most hypocritical act you personally witnessed during your incarceration as a jw?.

  hypocritical acts you witnessed being performed by those claiming to be of the anointed are most especially welcome to be posted.. the person who posts the most hypocritical act will receive the complete box set of the bethel family sing the kingdom melodies vols 1 - 10 complete as first prize.. the runner up will receive two box sets.. i'll start off.. the most hypocritical thing i ever witnessed was the (married) co who ran off with the (single) special pioneer immediately after giving a talk at the district convention on "jehovahs gift of marriage".. sister special had the suitcases packed and the motor running out in the parking lot (located directly behind the platform) as co spiritual giant wrapped up his talk.

  he finishes the talk then leaves the platform for the getaway car to a tumultuos round of applause from the massive crowd.. both last sighted somewhere slightly up ahead of a fading into the distance cloud of dust.. goo

  Well, I remember that my dad gave away his very ancient Armstrong Siddely motor car to a poor family so that they would be able to attend meetings.

  They promptly sold it and pocketed the money. Is that hypocrisy?

  You had to be around pre '75 to understand what the atmosphere was like back then. It was akin to the build up to a World cup football tournament, everyone who was involved was buzzing with it.

  'Course, in the late '60's, there was another side of the prediction that benefitted adulterous believers. You could have extra-marital sex in the sure knowledge that you wouldn't be called to account for it until '75, lotsa time to repent!

  typically these circulate as experiences given in talks and are then adopted by the masses as truth.. for example, anyone hear the ul about the married couple where the wife had to have a routine blood check.

  I heard about a Brother Heanes in Portsmouth. Bro. Heanes was doing a return visit and was confronted by a large German shepherd dog barking at the front gate.

  He eventually plucked up courage and gently opened the gate to find that the dog was quite friendly, so he knocked on the door and the householder invited him in.

  The dog lay at his feet, Bro. Heanes was doing his stuff when the dog cocked it's leg and urinated against the wall.

  The householder didn't seem bothered and eventually the Bro called it a day and went to leave.

  As he walked down the path, the householder called out: "Mister Heanes! Don't forget to take your dog with you!"

  I mentioned 1975 to my still devout but not so fundamental JW mum. Know what she said? "Oh, so you're a seventy-fiver then, are you?"

  This was from the same person who had once said:

  "Only 8 more visits left for each householder".

  "We should take out a 25 year mortgage, we will never have to pay for it".

  "Give me a year either way, if you're still here in '76, I will smoke a Woodbine with you".

  "When armageddon comes, will you please remember something? Please will you remember that I TOLD YOU".

  Now, I saw all of this with my own eyes, heard all with my own ears.

  And I`m accused of being an apostate?
