an elder said that he started discipling his child from 9 months.
he said whenever the 9 month old made a noise or cried at the meeting he would squeeze her.
I understand what your are saying nelly, in my old cong there was a brother who had two 'unruly' children, but perfectly normal in my opinion, whenever they 'misbehaved' he would smack then round the head in front of everyone, or take them outside for a good hiding. People used to find it funny, but it was just really sad. He even used to stop his group and go and smack them then continue with the group. What a great example for an elder to set.

he believes that many individuals leave the truth because it is hard; and they look for any miscue to escape the organization and their responsibility to god.
INMHO its easier to stay and go with the flow.
Perhaps he is at the stage in his journey out of the org wherein he is finding it hard to deal with and is looking for a noble excuse to go back and thus make it easier for himself.
a local student at foss high school in tacoma wa was killed today by another student.
the other student was arrested.
this school is a few miles from us, and my kids have visited for school events.
That's so sad. The poor parents and students. How are your children? Do they know about it? It must be such a shock for you all. I'm really sorry.

not jehovahs witnesses though lol, in case anyone was wondering....i'd have to move house, we can't "live in sin" and serve jah.. we saw a minor road accident between two cars, one of which looked likely to be a write off.
fortunately no one was badly hurt, as the ambulance came but didn't take anyone to hospital.
the police came as well, and took our names, so we are witnesses to the crash.. and that is the only witness either of us ever want to be again.. .
PHEW!!! You scared me for a moment, I thought the borg had assimilated you. Glad your still with us.
That's horrible about seeing the car accident though, am glad nobody was seriously hurt.

i had my operaton this afternoon, and everything went well!
i've had problems breathing through my nose for the last few years, so hopefully that'll be all fixed when i heal up.
i'd heard a lot of horror stories about how bad the op is, but it didn't seem that bad.
I hope it's a sccess and you recover quickly.

the co visit during those meetings you guys go to.
I hated the pioneer meetings, being put on the spot if you hadn't answered up yet, everyone trying to look good in front of the CO. One particular meeting just after the draw close book had been released the CO asked how many had read the book, we had to put up our hands. I had just finished it, (I read it in week, just before pioneer school as I knew he would ask who had read it, which he did, gold star for me, what a waste of a week that was).
Another meeting it was about material things, and we were told not to have credit cards or to go on exotic holidays.
At pioneer school we were also told not to be fashionable or trendy as this would stumble our bro's and sis. Of course I didn't listen, naughty me.
