Hello Everyone...

i've been away for quite awhile.

well, not really, just away from any discussion of that horrid religion.

i just couldn't give any more seconds of my life to talking about anything even remotely related to jehovah's witnesses.

Hey Abandoned, i'm so happy that your doing so well, it's great to hear from you.

i have made an appointment to see a therapist who has been highly recommended (i don't think i would ahve taken that step, had it not been for the recommendation and that this therapist is strongly involved with a church so probably has a pretty good idea about the issues involved with cults and the like).

are any of you currently in therapy, have had it or are about to have it?

for those that have, has it helped?

Hi Sweet Pea,

Im in therapy at the moment, got a couple of sessions left. It has really helped me to deal with my issues and guilt about leaving and all the anger. It helps just having someone to talk things through with, without the fear of being judged or told that what you are saying is wrong.

I hope your sessions go well, sounds like your on to a good therapist..

I finally got to meet my family after 20 years!!!!

today i got to go to the stapleton family reunion.

we as kids didn't get to go to these reunions because, as my parents would say "bad association".

most of my family (including uncles) i haven't seen in over 20 yrs.

How Were Intelligent "Sisters" Treated In Your Congregation?

as a rule, i believe jehovah's witnesses treat females as sub par to the menfolk.

i knew a lot of women in the hall that were smarter than their mates.

they begrudgingly got respect from most of the elders.

I am being shunned

my best friend has returned to being a j.w.

after not going for 7 years.

we had an argument because i dont agree with the shunning of any person by the whole congregation just because they don't want to be a j.w any longer.
