Did anyone see the Judge Mathis episode on January 16th, where a JW was on sueing her former bible study for return of a security deposit? She told the story how they met looking in a shoe store window, and the discussion turned to the bible when she offered the woman a free home bible study. Judge Mathis asked what religion that was. She didn't want to say, since she didn't want to "bring reproach on the religions name", being that they don't "make it a habit to sue people". The former bible study had no problem calling her out though.

Have you put your JW family behind you? Are you content with your decision
by nicolaou injust feeling a bit fed up.
it's not always like this i know but i'm wondering if life would be far easier for me and my wife if i just drew a line under all my efforts to maintain a relationship with my jw mother, brother and sisters.
all the rejection, judgementalism and condescension gets a bit much after a while.. how many here actually said 'goodbye' to their jw family and can honestly say they did not regret it?.

I was adopted into a JW family, so being that there were no blood ties, when I got disfellowshipped five years ago, there was no love lost at all. The only time I was a true part of that family was when I was gun ho involved. As soon as I started to see it for what it really was and slacked off, I was invisible again. As far as I'm concerned, it's their loss. We could have been civil. At least then they could have seen their "grandchildren" grow up. Now they have nothing.
