  Was it EX JW literature / WT's or the BIBLE which woke you up? Post scriptures if any....

  i considered myself immune to ex jw stuff.

  no amount of old watchtowers or anything would change me.

  it was seeing treatment of others by elders and the bible itself, which woke me.

  The biggest thing for me was reading in an old Watchtower that the GB didn't claim to be inspired, I always thought they were because of being "spirit-directed"

  So that got me thinking, if they're not inspired, how come I'm supposed to follow them as if they were??

  Praying about this dilemma led me to read Luke 21 v 8 which hit me like a bullet between the eyes

  "Look out that you are not misled, for many will come on the basis of my name saying I am he, and, "the due time has approached". DO NOT GO AFTER THEM".

  My blood pressure has gone down since I quit the Borg

  it used to be like 130/75 and now it's 98-102 over 65-70.. .

  yep, i can agree. My blood pressure has dropped too, my weight by 70lb and I'm seriously chilled out now compared to 21 years as a highly-strung Witness.

  my whole freaking family is still in.

  i am 5th generation and i use to have tons and tons of "friends" that are still in.

  when i was little my dad was co substitute for years so we got to travel alot and meet even more jws.

  One thing I learned over the last 3 years is they ain't gonna go away no matter how much I wish they would. So I had to toughen up and not measure myself by what they think of me. Its not easy doing that and takes alot of balls and self-esteem to mentally say "I'm better than you think and I don't CARE what your opinion of me is" but keep working on it.

  Some have suggested other friends..thats a great idea, broaden out and see yourself in their eyes, not just your family's. Then there are things you've always wanted to achieve - do them! You'll feel great about yourself after.

  Also look at what you've already achieved. Your own family, wife, kids, home, achievements at work etc, really look at them and say I done GOOD!!

  Cyber, you are a fantastic person thats not gonna die at armageddon, not "infecting" your kids with anything and are free to live and love in the way YOU know is right. Now all you gotta do is believe that! Your poor family haven't got that freedom, feel sorry for them.

  i couldn't believe the similarities.

  listening to the "apostates" within the mormons is like listening to one of us.. this should be watched by ex-jdubs and regular jdubs.

  i know there are a lot.. one belief i never understood is that blood fractions might be ok for a christian but not "whole blood".

  to me the "blood doctrine" is ridiculous from a scriptural point of view..

  My Dad Died Today

  he has been ill for some time, but it was still unexpected.

  he was never a jw and i didn't really have a close relationship with him, since he remarried after my parents divorced.

  i reunited with him in the mid 90's after over 10 years of not seeing him.. .

  My Wife's SSD Got Cut Off

  this morning, i came to discover in great shock that my wife's ssd has been stopped.. yesterday, i noticed her ssd wasn't automatically deposited as it usually does every 3rd of the month.. .

  this morning i checked again and it still wasn't there.

  so i got on vp and called to inquire what's going on with her ssd.

  we all chewed on this article pretty well when the news first came out about the " overlapping anointed " concept , however we discussed so much on just those 2 paragraphs dealing with the new " generation " theory - that almost the rest of the article was overlooked .

  our lurking inactive jw friend on the board sent us a copy of the april 15th.
