F W Franz - The Greatest Man who ever lived.

"Keep on the Watch Field Service"
"Should you believe in the Trinity Brochure?"
young people ask - answers that work to repress.. the subject-to-change truth that leads to eternal life.
keep yourselves in gods love - by following 1950s morality.

here's a brief recount of things that stood out to me this year upon my awakening...probably old hat for most of you.
the first experience i heard was from a sister who was afraid to speak to her fleshly sisters about "the truth" and her conscience was really bothered.
she felt horrible that they were going to die unless she shared the "truth" with them.
It makes me sad reading those experiences. Its like dumbing down for dumb people, so glad you see through them now.
god is the creator, but since he only created michael,.
and michael created everything else, ("all other things") .
that would seem to make michael the real creator, .
LOL!! That was hilarious! Thanks for posting Randy
i know some who go to meetings because they feel they have to because of family or other considerations.. imagine going to a meeting and having your iphone with you!.
how would it look if you had a watchtower in your hands along with a tv guide?.
think about going to a meeting with strong booze breath.. any other suggestions?
Kids are great at being disrespectful at just the right moment. My 7 year old said in a loud voice at the end of the public talk one Sunday,
"Thank God thats over, that was reeeaally boring". Everyone heard him.

The caller sounded like a typical ignorant dub spouting basic doctrine. That maybe enough for the average unreligious householder but not for someone who really knows what they're talking about. Poor Peter met his match, I bet he wished he never called.
i've been watching the new dvd and it is a bull fest about russell.
i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.
you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".
I'd love a link too please!
over at freeminds we didn't want this day to pass without some recognition of the life and death of ray franz.
in view of his stated wishes not to have a memorial or service we hoped for something that he would have liked for all of us to take a moment over.. .
we owe a note of thanks to v for his graphics work and atjeff for the obituary writing - i know neither of them need mentioned by me.. .
Can you love a man you've never met? With Ray, the answer's yes. There is no superlatives to describe a man so willing to follow his conscience at such personal cost, then go on to inspire many thousands of people to do the same.
With no sense of exaggeration I can honestly say that man gave me back my life. I owe him such a debt of thanks for his books and his courage that I can't begin to describe it.
Sleep well Ray, and a hearty "well done"
Claire
just setting the record straight.
there is another thread that notes a claim on wiki that said that ray has died.. he had a stroke yesterday, and is in the hospital.
he is still alive.
He is my hero. Without his courage to write what he knew, I would be spending my life under the control of the Watchtower Society. Now I'm free, thanks to that wonderful wonderful man.
my 10 year old grandson is in the hospital with really high blood pressure.
he has a urinary tract blockage which is affecting his kidney function, which resulted in the high blood pressure.
his dad, soonernc7 and his mom are with him now.
my prayers are with you and your grandson, hope he's better soon xxx
she blames me for everything.
i have a conversation with my sister (non jw) and the result is my fault.. i feel suicidal.
i've never yelled at my mother and told her she was wrong..
Don't panic honey. You've taken the first steps in letting go of mamma's hand and taking control as an adult - its a scary thing to do isn't it? We're so used to being a child seeking mamma's approval, that we can forget how to be adults. You've remembered, well done!
You don't need mamma's approval anymore, you're a grown-up now so don't be afraid of her temper, you know you're right - stick to it. Then you'll be well on the way to being a principled mature adult who knows her own mind.
Go girl!
