  It has been 5 years since the last JW meeting I attended.
  Today I wrote my DA letter.
  Originally, I wanted to write out a long letter detailing why I left. But then I thought about it and realized I did not want to give them anything to work with. I don't want the Borg to know what to say to keep others chained in their grasp.
  So the letter is simply this:
  
  Dear Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses,
  I, Chad Goodwin, was baptized on June 15, 1996 in Portland, Maine. I renounce this baptism. I also renounce any authority you have over me. Please remove me from your rosters. I wish no longer to be associated with your mind control cult.

  Were you afraid of "apostates"?

  i remember hearing rumblings of a few that had gone "apostate" and feeling absolute dread of the dark world they had stepped into.

  i would re-double my studying efforts.

  to me, "apostates" had gone over into the "dark side".

  I don't know if I was afraid of apostates, per se. It was as you said "the dark side".

  I think i was cautious, much like a jedi would be cautious of a sith.

  They were "Dangerous" and I considered them skilled in the ways of the Watchtower.

  Therefore, they were like my equal; only they no longer had "jehovah's approval".

  Why do the Jehovah's Witnesses accept the authenticity of "The Book of Daniel" but not that of Enoch's?

  some critics question the authenticity of daniel, assuming the position taken by a third-century heathen philosopher and enemy of christianity, porphyry, who contended that the book of daniel was forged by a palestinian jew of the time of antiochus epiphanes.

  My first guess would be that the book of enoch says there are more than one archangel.

  Whereas the JWs teach there is but one: Michael / Jesus
