  Mr. Flipper & Son Hear, See, and Get Footprints of Bigfoot on Pack Trip

  so, the long awaited trip began for my son and i to return to the same place he heard a bigfoot a year ago in the forests of northern california.

  the trip started out unfortunately for us to be a 7 mile hike instead of a 2 to 3 mile hike in to our base camp , as huge snow drifts covered the road , making it even inaccessible for 4 wheel drive, so , with packs on backs we hiked over 50 ft long snow drifts on places on the trail.

  even snow was covering one creek near the lake we were destined for .

  I have a hard time seeing the tracks in the snow.
  However, the one in the mud is quite clear.

  Why JWs should soft-pedal the "Divine Name"

  this is prompted by reniaa who claims that one of the things that jws have right is the name jehovah.. you know how if you're trying to convert someone to be a jw, you put your best foot forward and try to keep the controversial stuff that might "stumble" them on the back burner?

  (like say, mother's day or when i was a kid, pinatas?

  ) well, that's how i categorize the whole topic of the divine name.

  The term Christians should use for the Father is ABBA - so simple even a child can say it.
  In fact it is an onomatopoeia. I knew I would get to use that word one day!

  its called a Palindrome - a word spelled forwards and backwards the same way.
  
  An onomatopoeia is a word that is pronounced like it sounds, an example: Cock-a-doodle-doo.

  "Even if it isn't true" - how many of you heard this one recently?

  i remember first hearing it after the generation change of 95.. a sister answered up at the wt and said "even if armageddon isn't coming, its still the best way to live.".

  i have heard others say: "even if it isn't true, it's still the best way of life.".

  my mother said it a few weeks ago!

  I once said those words, "even if it isn't the truth, its the best way to live"
  but I don't agree now.
  I see that if it isn't the truth, then why not find the truth?
  Perhaps that is the better way to live.

  over the years there have been a few news stories about some "crazed" jw man or woman that kills their family because they don't want them to be destroyed at armageddon..

  wts teaching is that anyone who dies in this system, if not irredeemably evil (hitler), will be resurrected in the new system.

  wts teaching is also that those who are not evil but merely indifferent, disfellowshipped, children having unbelieving parents, etc., will be destroyed very soon, and that this destruction is permanent, with no hope of resurrection..

  I think the reason most don't do it, is the consequences.
  Sure, you give your relatives (or whomever you kill) a good chance of living forever, but you give up your own shot at it.

  Single Ministerial Servants and Elders...

  i'm sure this has been touched on before, but i just thought about it tonight.

  i was thinking about the appointment of ministerial servants (deacons) and elders (bishops) in the kingdom hall.

  the watchtower society runs down the list of requirements in acts, that they must be good examples, pure, etc.

  In the 3 congregations I was in over the course of being in the Borg.
  each of them had at least 1, sometimes 2 single elders.
  Perhaps it is just in your experience, or maybe I am the one who has the odd experience.

  it's gotten very difficult to find jw's out on the net now a days.. anyways....i would like to come in contact with fellow believers across the globe.. i'm a 26yr old bapt scandinavian.

  single and looking for the right guy.. love cooking, meetings, reading, hiking, swimming and outdoor life in general.. .
