Watchtower Birthday Logic

the watchtower bases their opposition to birthdays by two scriptures, saying something bad happened and god must have put it in there for a reason.

following their logic are there any other things jws shouldnt do because bad things happened in a couple of scriptures?.

Why do witnesses need the title of pioneer to get 30 hours?

if witnesses believe that we truly are in the end of the end of the last days, and they believe the work they do will really save lives, and most can just make a few adjustments and get 30 hours, why dont they do this more often??

without the title?.

to me if you really care about people you would not wait until you have a special title or badge to wear of look at me im pioneering, you would do the most you can every month and not care about recognition from men.

If the 49ers are going to go, they have to go all the way.

As of right now, the 49ers are the only ones with a 5-0 record when it comes to superbowls.

If they are going to lose, let it be this week instead of the SB.

Wow, I am shocked. They did not go with Portland Maine as the location for the district convention in Maine.

Instead they went with Augusta (a difference of about an hour), which is actually the smaller city and convention center.

They had gone with portland for decades.

ok, i have been doing some daily bible reading because it was recommended to me.

basically to try to eliminate my pts (post traumatic stress) of the bible by confronting it.

(and trust me there is plenty of flashbacks and memories associated with certain scriptures).

Anyway, I ran across a scripture which peaked my interest 2 Thess 3:14, 15 - which basically states not to associate with those who do not follow the writings of the Bible, but don't treat them as an enemy - treat them as a brother.
It made me think of how the JWs treat "apostates". They are the enemy - Evil people who are in the ranks of Satan. Yet, that scripture says they should be doing the exact opposite.

a woman in milwaukee bought a lithograph she liked at the local goodwill for $9.00, turns out it was an alexander calder print worth $9000.00!.

my wife lives for this stuff, this story will keep her going for another decade lol.

her big finds have been a tiffany sterling silver piece, a tony bennett signed lithograph (my favorite), and the cream of the crop a signed 4 piece lithograph by picasso contemporary bernard buffet she found and paid $12.00 for..

While not as neat as those examples, I once bought a 4 foot tall box of matches for $3. (had approx. 20,000 matches in it)

For a pyro at age 13, it was a great find!
