Hello Jehovah's Witnesses. I was in class 119 of Gilead in 2005
by AllTimeJeff inmy picture is in the january 1, 2006 watchtower.. why am i telling you this?
consider this my small weekend contribution to the cause of real truth.
any jw who has been one for a while, or a born in, knows the regard that pioneers, elders, bethelites and missionaries have.

Today's Watchtower
by tornapart inat the meeting today the wt had a paragraph about certain ones breaking away from the church because the church's doctrines didn't match the bible, some were excommunicated, some imprisoned, some executed.. of course they were held up to be lovers of god, true christians... if i was to do the same thing i would be held up as an apostate.... and excommunicated...... i wish sometimes i had the same courage as those ones.....

Wannabefree: what does your wife say about "new light" when it means that the "old light" was a lie/mistake?

"Privileges"
by Joe Grundy inyet another question (two actually), i'm afraid (but i am learning from all this, honestly!)..
i've seen the term 'privileges' on here many times, and i think i now understand that it means 'being allowed to carry out tasks in the congregation' - which includes walking round with the microphone, operating the pa system, etc.
in the services.

How many of you would have let your child die over the blood issue?
by UnConfused ini knew and planned, that if it came to that, i would close the door and tell the doctor to use blood to save my child and let god kill me for it if needed.
.
i lacked faith that we were 100% right i guess so i couldn't take that risk.

Interesting JeffT concerning your sister's observation.
@designs, I'm glad that ended well!
@G - I take it you didn't marry a witness?

Are black people more emotional than white people
by barry ini see in churches in the states standing up in church dancing, clapping their hands and being quite emotional even in a church.
things which that wouldnt be acceptable in australia.. the link below also shows black sda ministers dressed in clergy style dress which is quite unusual for ministers here in australia.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yynbdm0unsw&feature=g-all&context=g2e791f1faaaaaaaamaas .
could any of my american friends inform me i showed it to my father who is a lay preacher and he was mistified as to what tradition this dress comes from but seems to be concentrated to th eblack community also?.

I know that brown people are darker than pink people, after that I don't know much.
I do know that among my race of pink people some are paler than others, but are pretty much the same in emotions.
I *think* that both brown and pink people like a lot of the same things, like respect, validation, appreciation and other stuff like that and when they don't get that it makes both the pink and brown people emotional. I might be out on a limb with all of this though.
Oh wait! I've seen both pink and brown people at sporting events and they were equally emotional in that setting.

Is JUST RON not mowing because someone else is doing it or because he's no longer attending the KH and has lost his 'privileges'?

Transplants and blood question
by WildeLover inthe understanding of the society was that transplants were a conscience matter from 1967 til 1973?
then were forbidden from 1973 til 1981?.
however was it possible to have a transplant without any blood transfusions?

Imagine having a parent or child die during the time it was forbidden? Yet, JW's live by principles not rules
