If you're bothered by god murdering innocent children, you must have a "critical heart"
by OneEyedJoe inthis week's book study contains this gem:.
the way in which the bible is written serves to test what is in our heart.
hebrews 4:12 says: the word [or, message] of god is alive and exerts power and is sharper than any two-edged sword and pierces even to the dividing of soul and spirit .

Kids singing on stage? You mean like a choir? Does anyone at the Circuit level know about this????
oneeyeJoe, it sounds like that the comment that you could make is; "Yes even though the Israelites of old sound like ISIS of now it was with the consent of Jehovah God." Now keep a very straight face.

In the spirit of the season, a Bible passage to reflect that.
by UnConfused inelisha and the two bears (2 kings 2:23-25).
23 then he went up from there to bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!
24 when he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the lord.

Elisha and the Two Bears (2 Kings 2:23-25)
23 Then he went up from there to Bethel; and as he was going up by the way, young lads came out from the city and mocked him and said to him, “Go up, you baldhead; go up, you baldhead!” 24 When he looked behind him and saw them, he cursed them in the name of the LORD. Then two female bears came out of the woods and tore up forty-two lads of their number. 25 And he went from there to Mount Carmel, and from there he returned to Samaria.

Jeopardy! 587/586 B.C. Answer
by Jourles inis anyone watching jeopardy right now?
under the topic, nebuchadnezzar, the answer was something like, "in 586 or 587 b.c., this city was captured by nebuchadnezzar....blah blah blah.
" i wonder how many jdubs flipped out about that one!

Yes, I was watching that and I was offended by the answer not being 607.
I spent a year researching this and then several other topics which left me upset, depressed and finally out of the JW's.
But it was this very show and question/answer that lead to my leaving the JW's.

What was the most rebellious thing you did while you were a devout jw?
by DuvanMuvan ini was just thinking about how humans being imperfect and satan's influence was the root of everything bad that anyone has ever done.
well i know that apparently everyone is vulnerable which got me thinking about what "bad" things people have done while they were a jw.
i'll start it off.

I've never seen this scripture quoted in the WT
by UnConfused in1 cor 10:27. if an unbeliever invites you and you want to go, eat whatever is set before you, making no inquiry on account of your conscience.. .
.
i suppose that would mean it's ok to go eat with unbelievers?.

This verse also gives permission to associate with unbelievers which would also cause chaos.
