As a juror in a civil case I can see how I would not be pleased to have a bevy of WT lawyers there to object to testimony given about why they didn't call the authorities which was on the advice of the legal dept. That connects the dots from "rank & file" JW's to the WTB&T

A very honest point you've brought up and I'm impressed that the direction of the thread has not faultered.
To answer the question: I believe that the Society should direct the pedophile himself (or herself) to devulge the information to the Congregation. That would show a desire to protect the Congregation on the part of the sinner and the Society

Shunning ... when it's Convenient

a while back he gets a call from a very well known elder who, of course, shuns him.. elder: "hi g. i know this is a little strange, but i don't know who else to call".

I'm dating a minister

Was I threatened by a student?

If I were to say such a thing the only thing I could think is that I was trying to intimidate someone. (I've never ever said such a thing by the way!)
So yes, I concur that you should report this and then have a personal discussion with the young lad.
Though I'm not sure what his undetermined ethnicity has anything to do with the story.
