can anyone give me advice on how to confiscate some of the wine and bread used at the memorial service without anyone noticing it?.

i need these items for a black mass.. hehe.

Explanation: 21 march/14 nisan 2008 will be Armageddon Day for the Lord's Witnesses (a freaky splinter group - see http://www.truebiblecode.com) and Memorial Day for the J-dubs. So instead of deciding which of them has the Truth(tm) me and my friends would like to throw a party then - in style :)

just curious, how many of you have to hide the fact that you post here from family?

i'm especially thinking of those with spouses who are in, while they themselves either never were, faded, dfed/daed, etc but if you are a child hiding it from parents, that applies too.

if you are posting secretly, how secretive do you have to be?

good morning everyone,.

since we were talking about gnosticism a bit last night i decided to post one of the only remaining ophite texts, 'the hymn of the naasenes'.. basic info: the ophites/naasenes were a gnostic sect that worshipped the serpent as the bringer of gnosis/knowledge to adam and eve by suggesting to take the fruit.

as in all gnosticism jehovah/yahweh/yaldabaoth/saklas(fool) /samael (blind god) is the evil demiurge of this world, the bad guy of the story.. this particular hymn deals with the fallen aeon sophia/wisdom.

Yup most of the writings found at Nag Hammadi are gnostic. The particular 'flavor' is however mostly Sethian Gnosticism (like the Gospel of Judas that National Geographic hyped). The Ophites and the Sethians do have much in common.

This particular hymn deals with the fallen Aeon Sophia/Wisdom. After her fall that creates Yaldabaoth and eventually this material world, her syzygos (Divine Twin) Jesus is sent from the Pleroma (Fullness) to teach gnosis to the elect so that they may escape Yahweh's prison world.

there are hundreds or thousands of websites on jehovah's witnesses with all sorts of slants, but i have never come across any specifically for atheist jehovah's witnesses.

has anyone ever seen a site for atheist witnesses?

i think it would be a great idea, and we could call it atheists for jehovah, as a counterpart to the atheists for jesus.

Using School Assignments to Give a Witness

anyone remember all the examples of youths being encouraged to work something about the jws into school assignments on abortion, evolution, volunteer work etc?

i remember cheekily ending an essay with "remember the theory of evolution is just that, a theory" in about 8th grade but that was about it.

i did just get a fantastic a grade mark on my philosophy paper on shoudl parents have the right to refuse life saving medical treatment for infants and children too young to decide for themselves.

Last year I wrote a paper about the Tower of Babel and mythological colonialism in Jehovist/Yahwist texts.

This was basicly an analysis of how mythological space (such as the Babylonian ziggurat and the city of Babylon itself) is occupied and used for its own purposes (e.g site of rebellion) in monotheistic discourse.
