i don't know about you but i don't think i'll ever be able to forget all those melodies that have been repeated over and over for 30yrs.
and they're so catchy, sort of like christmas songs, i find myself humming them when i least expect it, or there's always a sound or song i hear that sparks a melody in my head.
i guess thats another form of crazy programming almost impossible to delete.
As SirNose82 pointed out out on another thread, the kingdom songs are 'doctrine that rhymes'... It's part of the programming.
I can relate to what you say.. I even have a collection of them on my hard disk lol

why would jesus have peter leave, go fishing, and go thru the trouble of finding the 1st fish and a coin to pay the tax inside the mouth of this fish, when all he had to do to hasten the paying of the tax was produce it.
How are these things any less “bizarre” than a talking cross (Gospel of Peter)
This one is priceless! I remember well reading the GoPeter for the first time and still laughing about it a week later
"And the Cross said: 'Yea!'"

i remember i heard this some times (but not from the platform).
it would go something like: 'oh isn't it wonderful that with the help of the organization we know more about the bible than people who study theology at university?!'.
at least with theology you learn the meaning of difficult words like "biblical litteralism" .

Exactly!

Does this ring a bell? Or was it something local?

ileft "the truth" 16yrs ago and still cant move on in some areas of my life, i have no family now as they stopped talking to me and have never relented.this has left me with serious problems with needing aproval from people in my life.i have never stopped trying to win my fathers aproval and no i,l never have it unless i go back(which would never happen)jus wondered if any1 else has similar hangups, n if you do, how do i deal with it n move on.
Welcome xnmad!
I think I can relate to what you say.
Approval has to do with responsibility, and that has to do with maturity.
Your family has given itself heart and soul to a stupid publishing corp because they needed approval from someone/something for everything they do in life.
They have never figured about that the one who needs to approve with your decisions is YOU. Of course you can listen to advice from friends, but real friends know that you have the ultimate responsibility for your decisions and won't keep bothering you about it (like shunning does).
Do you really need approval from persons who can't take full responsibility in their own lives?
Keep posting! And all the best!

having read through several of the recent threads on gods existence, religious hypochondria and those who simply state that they really dont care i asked myself the question why?.
why do some people have faith and a desire to worship and believe?.
why do some people despise faith and lack any sense of a 'greater' being?.
If you remember the bottom line for natural selection is that something somehow helps in survival, then the capacity for belief (being sure something is the case without proof) has a good chance of being selected:
The caveman who really believes a pack of sabertooth tigers can appear from the jungle any moment will be on his watch even if he does not see them.
