read it and see that the pres actually was on the ball and had the machinery turned on and ready to operate.
if a dummy like clinton (gore or kerry as well) had been in charge, who knows what would have happened!

the following post was the basis of my arguments in a debate with jim penton in october 2004 at the northwest conference in wenatche, wa.
I have many of the same questions as you. And, I enjoyed your post. All except for your believing that the war in Iraq is a good thing. That war has had nothing good come out of it. Freedom there can be considered abstract. Maybe they are free of Sadaam. However, they are not free from a ruthless ideology of hate that surrounds them. Everyday they are exposed to the beliefs of terrorist networks and other anti American/West views.
Sorry for straying of the course. This topic is probably more suited for another thread.
Thanks again for your post.

a few of you may remember when i came to this site back in sept. i was seeking advice about my bf who had been studying with jw.
well i hate to say it but they won.
after being together almost 2yrs we broke up.
Hi Meg,
Sorry about your news. About 3 years ago I was going through the same thing. However, I was on the other end. I was the boyfriend/fiance of a woman, that wanted me to leave or not return to the JW's. The time was just after 9/11 and the urge to return to a faith that was familiar to me was great. Sometimes the more she pushed for me not to come back the greater I pulled away from her.
My fiance at the timed started feeding me information from this website, and other (apostate) websites. At least that is what I thought. The only reason I looked into the material she gave me was because, I remembered something that I heard a long time ago, "if it is the truth it will stand up to scrutiny." I am speaking ofcourse about the beliefs of JW's. Some things that the JW's believe in, did stand the test for me, but there were enough things for me to see that did not necessarily stand up truth.
The reason I am telling you this is that, perhaps, you can provide him with some of the information you come across from this board. Albeit, it has to be done in a heartfelt way. And, maybe some of the members on this board are right, it is better this happen now instead of the future. Imagine if you were already married with children, etc...
Whatever happens, best wishes. Oh, and I married her...
Regards,
Erik
yep.
bush's moral clarity and steady resolve have provided enough of an example to influence 200 elected democrats to change over to the republican party since bush took office.. the democrat party is becoming ever more extreme, vile, and spineless with the loss of such good people, which cyclically drives even more good people out.
those who really want kerry to be president should take note.. remember, folks, today is the day we learned that we cannot negotiate.
Not to mention the fact that we are dealing with a president, whose administration did not allow the FBI to investigate a member of the Saudi civil air authority. The Saudi gov't worker in question supplied two of the nineteen terrorist with money and a place to stay in San Diego. The president does not want to upset his buddies, including Prince Bandar over in Saudi Arabia.
There has been no link found between Iraq and Al Qaeda. Bin Laden still has not been caught, and America decides to set its focus on (Weapons of Mass Destruction) in Iraq. I can not vote for a President who chooses to mislead the American people, to satisfy his own hidden agenda.
Who is benefiting from this war? Do some research and see who is benefitting in terms of contracts, etc...
Halliburton. Remember that company. Yeah the same one that Dick Cheney worked for. The same guy whose was paid 20 million dollars as part of his leave or retirement from his ceo position with Halliburton. Do you think there might just be a little payback there?
Being a former JW, I tend to have a bad taste in my mouth toward politics. I wish there were more choices than the dem. and rep. parties. I know that there is the independent party lingering out there, but unfortunately they lack the punch of the big two.
Okay now I am just rambling.
Enough.
I saw the post and my feelings toward Bush came out.
now you may think i'm a little slow to catch on here.
this morning was the first time it occurred to me that the jw's use of the tetragrammaton may actually be a huge insult to other faiths.
admittedly they use a modern day english version of the name of god - jehovah.
Hi there,
I have wondered the same thing. It seems that the name in the Hebrew scriptures or in the Jewish faith is sacred and is not used as often. If I meet the President, I am not going to greet him with, Hey George how are ya. Emphasis on Hey George. The President is just a man and yet I would still pay him the respect of greeting him by Mr. President or something to that effect. Also, do modern day Jews use the name Yaweh as often as Witnesses?

i was just curious as to whether or not anyone has read or taken a look at this book regarding bible prophesy.
if you have, please let me know what you think.
I read a little of the book yesterday at the local Borders bookstore. Very weird stuff, something about the end or apocalypse coming in 2006. Also, the prediction of the twin towers falling. That kind of stuff weirds me out.

is it true that in the 80s xjws and apostates protested out the front of meetings and caused disturbances in meetings (eg rushing the stage)??
i overheard an elder a while back mention this.
anyone got any stories??.
I seem to remember an apostate rushing the stage and yelling something to the speaker at an assembly that I was attending when I was very young. It was definitly in the early 80's. He was promptly escorted out by some witnesses. I believe it was in West Palm Beach, Fl or Hollywood, Fl.
i don't post often and many of you seem to be relatively new to the board, so you may not know me or my situation.
i've been struggling with some the usual issues that are commented on here on a regular basis.
last sunday the elders finally asked me why i haven't been in service for the last two months.
How do you feel now about celebrating Christmas? Especially knowing what the real origin of this celebration is.
recently, i have come across a question pertaining to the whereabouts of the faithful and discreet slave between the time of the first century christians and 1914.. i have heard two separate things.. 1) that there was no break between the time of the first century christians, and that there was in some way a faithful and discreet slave here on earth.

"jehovah's witnesses believe that this parable to the one true congregation of jesus christ's anointed followers.
Does anybody know the answer to this:
What is the wheat and weeds parable? How does it apply to the issue of the annointed or the FDS?
