new to this and as a nonbeliever i would like to ask how many people lost their belief in a god after leaving the wts.
what opened your eyes?
what made the light get brighter?
Barbie Doll and I are atheists.
I left the JWs; because, I could not live up to their standards. I knew that no one else was meeting the standards; but, I could not live the lie, that all of my friends were living. I was going to die in a very short time; so, I got a job and went on with my life.
The first time I attended church, after leaving the JWs, was a very eye opening experience. I found that they taught many of the exact things that the JWs taught. The ones that really opened my eyes were, that they are only true religion and that your salvation can only be obtained through them.
Barbie Doll was never a JWs, she grew up, being move from one foster home to another, each one required her to attend their church. The common theme for all of these religions, was that they all claim, to be the only true religion and that your salvation can only be obtained through that particular sect. If you pick the wrong one you will be punished, just attending another sect can cause you loose your salvation.
When we are taught from birth, that things are a certain way, we believed; until, we had overwhelming evidence that it was all a lie. IMO If one is a lie they are all a lie, there is no true religion.
Faith is belief that is not based on proof. There is and never will be proof that there is any god.

i am starting the thread to provide a place for everyone tell their reasons for hating the watchtower bible and tract society of new york, inc.. first off i want to say, i do not hate jehovah's witnesses.
i hate the wtbts; because, they kill people with their lunatic blood policy and destroy families with shunning.. my mother at age 48, was diagnosed with a brain tumor.
the tumor could have been removed with surgery; but, that would have required blood so it didn't happen.
Anyone else care to share?

i just wanted to say that miss this board sometimes and once in a blue moon i just come here to lurk... and btw i like the new form look :-).
do you guys just hate it sometimes that the witness that you use to know try and convince you (even though they claim that they are not trying to convince you) to stay inside the wtbts (assuming that you are not df'd/da) and that their is no better place for you to go and no matter what proof you try to give them it goes one ear and out the other .
i feel like they don't respect my wishes at all or that they don't even take me seriously.
I don't have that problem, I haven't seen a dub in years, unless saying hi to my sister at the zoo counts.

My mother at age 48, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The tumor could have been removed with surgery; but, that would have required blood so it didn't happen. She went to just about every brain surgeon in So Cal and none could do the surgery without blood. The doctors told her, that if she didn't have the surgery, she might have ten more years to live.
Out of desperation, she allowed the surgeons to use her as a g uinea pig. They open her skull, poke around and take some pictures, chart the tumor's progress and then close her back up. She had five of these surgeries.
The first surgery was for a biopsy, this is when they found that it was not cancerous, not being cancerous, in this case that was bad news, at that time there were no non-surgical treatments for this tumor. She had no symptoms and if she hadn't had the x-ray, they probably wouldn't have been found the tumor for years.
The second surgery was done when she started loosing her sense of smell and taste, she had no noticeable improvement of symptoms or delay in continued loose, from this surgery.
The third surgery was done when she started loosing the eyesight in her right eye; again, she had no noticeable improvement of symptoms or delay in continued loose, from this surgery.
The fourth surgery was done when she started loosing sight in her left eye; again, she had no noticeable improvement of symptoms or delay in continued loose, from this surgery.
The fifth surgery was done when a CAT scan showed that the major veins and arteries to her brain were mostly blocked. This time they tried to remove some of the tumor that was blocking the blood flow. They had to stop when they couldn't control the bleeding. The doctors spent the next two weeks trying to convince us that her low blood counts were due to a bleeding stomach ulcer and not brain surgery.
After this surgery she was in a semi-comatose state for six months, then she went to a convalescent home for four more months, before coming home. It was April when she came home, at that time she had recovered most of the function that she had before surgery #5. She lost 10 out of her last 13 months because of this surgery. She quickly declined from there dieing at the end of June, almost ten year after the tumor was found.
All of this could have been avoided if Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc. would have allowed the surgeons to do their job.
Thank you Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc.
P.S. I could have written another three or four paragraphs covering April to June; but, I wouldn't be able see the screen and you wouldn't either.

the whole congregation came to a complete and utter shock as a family of 5 was df'd on the same night.... apparently the father was to be df'd for apostacy.
he was given a chance to appeal.
went home to discuss it with family.
We are an entertaining lot, aren't we?

i'm fascinated at the masses of people who prefer to believe there are extremely simple answers to our problems that require little or no effort on our part.
these solutions of course are being covered up by "them".
"them" is the boogeyman du jour-the government, men in black helicopters, big business, etc.
The diabetes epidemic is caused by eating too much food, it is as simple as that.
