  it makes me sad that people want to go back and wipe themselves out of history. find hope, its there.

  I would go back 3 years 7 months and tell myself not to skip the part where we are friends first.

  Assistance needed on issue of birthdays

  i am currently reviewing various doctrines of the wt.. would it be possible for this thread to focus completely on the issue of birthdays and avoid other subjects & also any digs at the wt over their current policy.. personally, i believe that birthdays are acceptable but i need concrete reasons / facts to counteract the arguments provided by the wt for their refusal to celebrate birthdays.. thanks .

  WT does not allow celebration of birthdays. Why? because the only two places the word "birthday" is used is in reference to Pharoah and Herod. On both occassions someone died (the baker on Pharoah's and John the Baptist on Herods)

  My opinion: This in no way say not to celebrate birthdays. just because those are the only times the actual word "birthday" is used does not mean you can not celebrate. They celebrated Jesus birthday: angels sang, wisemen even brought gifts. They celebrated John's birthday: the sang, danced, and feasted. They celebrated Job's sons birthday. if God did not want you to celebrate birthdays, he would have said it.
