Went to my first meeting today anonymously!

hi everyone.. jack and i decided we would go to his local kingdom hall this morning.

although i have no interest anymore in being a jw, i think its still nice to have regular bible discussions, etc, which can give you something spiritual to think about each week.

i love it and i think its damn good for you.. today, jack and i walked in, a little nervous, but were greeted and welcomed like friends.

Unitarians, in the US, at least, are accepting of gays and have interesting sermons on Sunday, as well as social events.

this is my first time participating in a site like this , so please.

forgive me if my approach is clumsy.. my story is not extraordinary and hardly interesting, so thanks.

in advance to this forum for extending the bandwidth for my own.

Welcome to JWN. Here you will find helpful tips on dealing with the truth about the "truth". The fallout of your newfound discovery will probably be the most painful experience of your life, but it will also bring freedom and happiness in the long run. This is the place to rest your burdens and share your knowledge and eventual joy.

As far as being a hypocrit for maintaining your position in the congregation, you'll get no criticism from me. Do what you have to do to save yourself and your famly. Good luck and God speed. Eventualy you'll come to the contented conclusion that part of growing up and living free of delusion means not having all of the answers.

How can i make my cat drink?

its the height of the summer here and i think my eldery cat is not drinking enough.

his urine smells strong like human patients that i used to work with did when they hadn't drunk enough.. hes got fresh water down all the time, but hes not touching it?.

Try distilled water in case he has a UTI. If he goes for more than a day without drinking or starts to hang out near his litter box, Rush him to the vet. His UT may be blocked, and cats die very quickly from that.

If he is blocked and you're not already feeding him a premium brand of at food with a low ash content, please start.

but I don't know of anyone in my old congregation who was like that. That I know of....

That's the problem....these creeps ren't made known to the congregation.

There was an older article that did state anyone convicted of molesting a child couldn't be appointed as an elder or MS.

I'm pretty sure it was worded, "known" pedophile.

Very poorly dog has been rushed to emergency vets!

i am really worried... she had started to improve and now has become seriously ill... took her to the vets yesterday and they think her stomach is ulcerated... gave her injections and medicine to take at home... today she is even worse, she hasn't eaten for 4 days... when she does eat she vomits it back up... she is also drinking vast amounts of water.... i phoned the vets and they wanted her in immediately... it's after ten pm, so they must think she is urgent.

carrot has taken her and i'm waiting by the phone for news.... just want her well... this is awful!

So sorry to hear of your dog's continued health problems. I hope everything works out okay.

Years ago when we lived in another house, one of our neighbors set out cans of tuna with rat poison in his yard. I called the police only to be told that we couldn't prove he did it. Sure he didn't...the neighborhod a$$hole who constantly complained about stray cats in the neighborhood. So my husband proceeded over to his house, pounded on his door and said, "If any cats get sick from the rat poison you put out, I'm gonna come back over here and beat your ass!"

We never had another problem with rat poison in tuna. It's too bad you couldn't do something to shake up that old crone, as well as make her pay for your dog's vet bills.

Sorry I haven't been on all day. My stepson was in a car accident, (he wasn't hurt, but his truck is probably totaled...poor kid, this was his first accident, and although the other driver was cited, he was very upset.) And on top of that I've been working to get a stray cat to friendly up to our family. My husband coaxed him into being held, and we're keeping him in a big dog crate on our enclosed porch until we can get his shots tomorrow and neutering on Monday.

Anway, I'll contact Bill Bowen to see if he's contacted any news outlets about this. If he didn't, I suspect it's because the accuser wanted to remain anonymous.

On different occasions Silentlambs has reported that child molesters are encouraged to go door to door to the unsuspecting public. We have documented cases where JW pedophiles have started Bible Studies with families and then molested their children. In 1992 a panel from the Awake writing department made three recommendations in a fifty page report documenting rampant pedophilia within the organization to the then acting Governing Body (leadership for Jehovah's Witnesses). Those three recommendations were;

Child molesters should never be allowed to be appointed to leadership roles in the congregation.
All cases of molestation immediately reported to the authorities.
Child molesters should not be allowed to participate in the door to door ministry.

Sadly almost twenty years later not one of these recommendations has fully to be enacted. We have documented internal letters allowing pedophiles to be reappointed to leadership roles, victims are still required to report to elders any case of molestation, and as documented below molesters continue to call at the homes of the unsuspecting public and hurt kids. For twenty years leadership of Jehovah's Witnesses have had thousands of reports of children being molested, paid millions of dollars of worldwide work donations to silence the victims, and purposely lied to members about the extent of this problem while maintaining a database of over 25,000 documented pedophiles within church home office records which in most cases have not been reported to authorities.

The question that begs to be answer is what does this have to do with God? Will studying the Bible and giving away billions of pieces of literature compensate for the thousands of children violated by polices of this organization? Would a true God want people like this representing his name?

"I am not a baptized member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, but had been doing a home study with them and my two children, about two years ago. My daughter at the time was 13, my son was 15. The nice couple that had been coming to our home to study had to leave for an extended time, so they send someone new to study with us. The person they sent was Rick Brown, we thought he seemed very nice, but he keep wanting us to bring the kids over to his trailer, for the day or even overnight, so that my husband and I could have a break away from the kids. We declined his offers, but in his following visits he started to make comments toward my daughter that seemed off to me. Then the comments started to get creepy! After he left I got online to the sex offender list and, well there he was! I contacted the kingdom hall and told them the whole story, they told me it would be dealt with. Now I see he is out going door to door."
