  i just heard from his brother that he has passed.

  several of you know that he has been fighting cancer for a while now.. oh, sac!

  i am so very sorry you have left this world... rest in peace, joy, and light... your fight, suffering, and fears are put to rest.. strength and love to all who love you.. .

  Wyoming is randomly dotted with little collections of industrial equipment, they look like a generator and a couple of 250 gallon hot water heaters. Are these gas wells? There isn't anything anywhere near them that would require water.

  I read a few years ago that Wyoming's economy is booming due to the mining of clean coal. The operations you saw may be doing just that. Welcome home...glad you returned safely.

  I remember you said a while back that you wanted to write a rap song. The thought of you actually rapping it is pretty funny though. Most people don't know how well spoken you are. Hell, if you threw a couple of "F" words in there, I'd have a better chance of pulling it off, LOL!

  Finding peace

  this is for those of you who are familiar with my periodic rants about being married to a jehovah's witness.

  you won't be seeing any more of them.. my wife and i were up before dawn on friday and spent the entire day on our boat, trolling 10 miles from shore and talking.

  we talked about our lives together, the ground we've covered in the 40 years since we met as university freshmen.

  Nic, I am so happy for you and your wife. There's nothing better than a meeting of the minds with someone you love.

  When she finally finally caved in to the idea that his decision could be "right" for him, I brought in the 800-pound gorilla. "But you always always always allow Watchtower to decide things for you. If a man beats his wife, she can divorce but never remarry if he remains celebate. Even if he went to jail, she could not remarry." She hemmed and hawed.

  OTWO, it's such a shame that your wife can't really see the truth about the Watchtower's vile control over people. My jw ex-husband wasn't just beating me...he was strangling me and terrorizing me by driving towards a tree or into oncoming traffic, and then would veer back on course at the very last possible moment. The last few days that we were together he outright told me that he was going to kill me and then kill himself. He was crazy enough that a judge ordered forced committment to a mental institution. Last year I completed the Mosaic exam featured on Oprah that scores the likelihood of domestic violence ending in homicide. My situation scored a 9 out of 10.

  Yet the elders showed up to my home unannounced and uninvited and pressured me into remaining in this marriage. When I refused, they informed me that I would have to prove adultery on his part. They made it seem like those were my only two options; remain in the marriage or stalk the guy who was threatening to kill me. Still a full fledged believer, I was so desperate to make them understand how frightened I was that I said I would da myself before doing either one of those things. Their answer was, "Don't bother. We'll df you instead."

  A few months passed by, and I had moved twice, assuming I was df'd. My jw mom and step-father showed up, again, unannounced and uninvited to ask me if my husband had scriptural grounds for divorce. In that moment I realized that I would never be free of this man unless I "confessed". I had already given up all legal claims to our home, spousal support and all other marital assets, and then my own family was used by him against me. All because that is what the Wathtower dictated.

  And the sad thing is that there are thousands who have suffered even more than I did. All because the Watchtower says so.

  a few years back, my son who i tried hard not to get in too deep with the borg was at a football game with some witless kids and a few like himself, parents halfway in the borg.

  well he and his brother who was doing all he could to be smiled upon by the elders arrived at the playing field and were just sort of mingling and waiting for the rest of the people to show up, when one really judgmental elder's kid asked another boy why he had worn a south park shirt to the game.

  the sputh park shirt kid was pretty sarcastic and answered the question with a question.

  Went to my first meeting today anonymously!

  hi everyone.. jack and i decided we would go to his local kingdom hall this morning.

  although i have no interest anymore in being a jw, i think its still nice to have regular bible discussions, etc, which can give you something spiritual to think about each week.

  i love it and i think its damn good for you.. today, jack and i walked in, a little nervous, but were greeted and welcomed like friends.

  Welcome to JWN. Here you will find helpful tips on dealing with the truth about the "truth". The fallout of your newfound discovery will probably be the most painful experience of your life, but it will also bring freedom and happiness in the long run. This is the place to rest your burdens and share your knowledge and eventual joy.

  As far as being a hypocrit for maintaining your position in the congregation, you'll get no criticism from me. Do what you have to do to save yourself and your famly. Good luck and God speed. Eventualy you'll come to the contented conclusion that part of growing up and living free of delusion means not having all of the answers.

  How can i make my cat drink?

  its the height of the summer here and i think my eldery cat is not drinking enough.

  his urine smells strong like human patients that i used to work with did when they hadn't drunk enough.. hes got fresh water down all the time, but hes not touching it?.

  Try distilled water in case he has a UTI. If he goes for more than a day without drinking or starts to hang out near his litter box, Rush him to the vet. His UT may be blocked, and cats die very quickly from that.

  If he is blocked and you're not already feeding him a premium brand of at food with a low ash content, please start.
