  Tough Situation.

  my grandmother is not doing so well health-wise.

  she just turned 91 and has been a faithful jw her entire life.

  she has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is battling pneumonia on top of that.. we were very close up until the point, a few years ago, when she asked me flat-out if i had any intention of coming back or if i even believed in god.

  i've been lurking for a few months and want to get in on some of the conversation.. also here's a song that's taken on a new personal meaning for me.

  (i was born in to a witness family and have recently woke up to the fact that it is just a group of people following just men.

  after many years of visiting this site off and on since its inception i would finally like to throw in my two cents and opinions into the mix.. first of all, i am a born in, baptized at the tender age of 9. although i totally disagree with allowing someone at that age to get baptized, i will say that i was very imformed and i knew my dogma!

  at the same time, though, i was aware of many inconsistancies with many of the beliefs and practices of the jw faith.

  i was adopted by my grandparents since i was 2 months and they had been jws since 1950s.

  The second paragraph under the heading "Adult Life" says:

  Friends and family, questioned about Ridgway after his arrest, described him as friendly but strange. His first two marriages resulted in divorce because of infidelities by both partners. His second wife, Marcia Winslow, claimed that he had placed her in a chokehold.[7] Ridgway had become fanatically religious during his second marriage, proselytizing door-to-door, reading the Bible aloud at work and at home, and insisting that Marcia follow the strict teachings of their church pastor.[3] Ridgway would also frequently cry after sermons or reading the Bible;[8] though Ridgway continued to solicit the services of prostitutes during this marriage and also wanted Marcia to participate in sex in public and inappropriate places, sometimes even in areas where his victims' bodies had been discovered.[3]

  when we moved up to pa back in late april the first thing i did when we got here was to grow a beard.

  not a full face beard just around the mouth beard.

  i love the look but my wife although she thinks i look good with it does make me look older because it is grey.

  And calling me a "super fine apostle" seems a bit condicending.... You would do well to remember that us spirit appointed window washers, sorry "elders", are going to be princes in gods new world. And based on the great dc earth quake of 2011 id say thats gonna be soon!

  talk to paulnotsaul last night and found out his wife was in the hosptial.

  it was very serious but she is going to be ok. this is our opportunity to wish her well.
