I am so sorry to hear this. And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but don't believe anything she says, especially about not getting into a custody fight. She and her family set you up. They encouraged you to quit, so she could take off with the baby. Get an attorney now. Even if I'm wrong, which I'm probably not, you're better off having good legal advice. Also, check your bank accounts. If all of the money is still there, withdraw at least half for yourself.

Since those in attendance are responsinle for breakfast and dinner, I'm assuming this school doesn't take place at Bethel. So, where do they stay, and are they responsible to pay for lodging?

My almost 23-year old step-son moved back in a few months ago. I'm fine with it, but his dad gets irriatated that he doesn't keep his room clean. Until he switched from working a day to afternnon shift job, he was a big help with yard work and such.

JW Husbands - a learned domination?
by skeeter1 inare jw husbands bad people?
would you want your daughter to marry one?.
i ask because a male jw relative was baptised.

What's the saying? Absolute power corrupts. The absolute power and misuse of it is done by the Watchtower. In a marriage, the one who submits themselves to the Watchtower is usually the one who dominates.

Oh that's rich! Heaven forbid she eat imaginary blood in meat by products, but she'll puff away on cigarettes. I wonder if her jw daughter will ever feel conscience driven to turn Mommy into the elders.

@Out at Last: LOL, as if he'd ever ride a motorcycle....would probably rather take an ass whippin' instead...just like me! Alas, I haven't heard from him in a few days, however he said we should chat on the phone soon. My friend in Pittsburgh has to work this Saturday. Do you have a chair you can carry on the bike?

Stephen Lett: "Pray for us to be faithful and discreet!"
by cedars inout of interest, i have just been scanning through the four latest available watchtower study articles (july thru october 2011) and in doing so i am reading them objectively for the first time.
i have been shocked, outraged and amazed by some of my findings.. as one example, take the article "a history-making meeting" from the august 15th watchtower, 2011. the article, beginning on page 18, discusses the 126th annual meeting of the watch tower bible and tract society, and begins with a summary of the opening talk by governing body member stephen lett.
it concludes the highlights of his talk in this way:.

Any JW who is "IN" would see that as a request made with humility.
My thought exactly! Fake humilty.

by mochamint22 init's been a while since i've posted on the forum but im needing to get how i'm feeling out of my head and out in the open.
i don't know what's going on with me but sometimes i feel overwhelmingly sad and my eyes well up like i'm going to start crying.
i'm not thinking about any one particular thing when this happens.

I am no counselor, but it sounds like you're suffering from learned helplessness. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Learned_helplessness
You can break this cycle, and you must for the sake of your kids. Talk to your therapist about it, and get away from this toxic man as soon as possible.
