i know there's plenty.. one that comes to mind is the blood doctrine.
whole blood is bad, blood fractions may be ok but not all.....wtf?
?.
This isn' the weirdest, but it hasn't been mentioned yet: it's wrong to use the word "lucky".
.
if you've never seen this one-hour film, it's pretty interesting.. .

id like to introduce my self as im new......a lil nervous but ready to have some conversation that doesnt require me to rely on old men in ny to think for me.
im tired of the puppetteering, the sly green handshakes to move up, the lies turned into new light- "what happened to yes means yes?
", just has the makings of a bad ponzi scheme in my opinion...i officially begun my fade this year.....and im enjoying it.
My story began when my father was taken under by the JW's after a nasty split with my DFmum.....you know the old brotherhood...new family....went straight to his head.
No time passed until a poor as dirt sister with 2 kids came to my fathers rescue and became the ready made step mom from you know where.
I wasnt born in....but have been around it since childhood....was put under intense pressure by the BOE @ my local cong and my parents to get dipped before 18......worst mistake of my life....what could I have possibly known about the symbolism and alternative meanings of biblical text......all I liked was the group outings and "association".
Little did I know that all 3 of my siblings didnt agree with the "Truth". Secretely they kept quiet to not be labeled and outcasted. I had dreams of college after H.S. nothing in this world was going to stop me from going......successfully im in my fourth year and completing soon. College brought on going through the motions to keep my father at bay. I am under the impression that my father cant serve at his cong due to me being a full time student, in an attempt to please them he withdrew his support ($) only contributing what was necessary. Thanks to all that bible dicipline I received a full scholarship for every year....I dont need his money.
What has pushed me to this point was my last attendance at a assembly where they announced new light (I was awake for this part) LOL....they slyly took something that they stated as fact and totally changed it to something new.....and then called it new light.... led me to question "divine inspiration", consistency in doctrine....so on and so forth.
Im pretty open to discussion, I havent lost faith in god...just organized religion.
I'm quoting your second post on this thread, so later posters won't miss it. Wow, what a story! Congrats on the scholarships...good for you! I don't even know you, and I'm bursting with pride! Yes, it's been made known here that elders will lose their positions if they support ther children goig away to school. So, do you have contact with your df'd mom? Are your siblings all out? What's your major in college?
Jamie - Yes I had the CA125 and my levels are normal . The GYN ordered a OVA test today .
I'm no expert on ovarian cancer, but I spent lot of time researching it after M was diagnosed. From what I can tell, the CA125 being normal is a very good sign.
i am a registered teacher in western australia and i have a working with children's card, as is mandatory for all who work with children in most australian states, i.e.
victoria, new south wales, queensland, and western australia.. the wwc is more strict than the national criminal history check which many employers in australia now insist on.
the wwc considers not just convictions for child-related crimes, but also allegations, acquittals and spent convictions (where one is found guilty but no penalty is imposed).
No wonder they didn't want jws to have to get the cards. All of the skeletons are going to start falling out of the closet at the same time! It couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of folks!
i would love to see the wtb&ts/ wwc case in victoria austrailia come to national or even international media attention.
i plan on finding as many media sites 'contact us' as i can in the next few days.
if enough of us email/phone/written bltz hit the tv and newspaper media asking for coverage of the story as it unfolds in the coming months, maybe someone will pick it up... anyone up for sending some emails?
Mauiboy, please check your pms.
My best friend was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in June. The first test that indicated cancer was the CA125. Have you had that test? If not, please ask your doctor why not. It could give you peace of mind before the surgery. Her tumors were so huge that a hysterectomy couldn't be performed, so she started chemotherapy. She's doing great, by the way.
Good luck. Just take it easy after the surgery. And as far as not having paid time off, remember that you'll be spending less money by not working, (gas, car maintenance, lunch, etc).
in the question from readers, watchtower 2011 8/15 p. 22 it made the following comment:.
"we thus have no way of knowing the exact number of anointed ones on earth; nor do we need to know.
the governing body does not keep a list of all partakers, for it does not maintain a global network of anointed ones.".
Um...didn't Watch Tower attorneys just admit in Austrailian court that the faithful and discrete slave doesn't exist?
when i was in 4th grade, i ended up in a situation involving minor school politics.
they had developed a "student council" which did little more than sell pencils at lunch time for fundraisers.
anyway, i was appointed by the teacher and didn't think much of it as an 8-9 year old.
There's been many threads on this throughout the years. Your mom, like many others, was probably encouraged to fabricate the story. If the stories aren't fabricated, then huge chunks of the truth are deleted from these "experiences". For example, after I was df'd I heard that my mom was chosen to relate an "experience" about her unbelieving husband opposing her and later becoming a jw himself. I wondered to myself if she bothered to mention that said husband molested her 12-year old daughter, mentally tortured her son, and that her daughter grew up to marry an abusive jw and was df'd in her attempts to flee the violent man who was threatening to kill her. Probably not.
