Too bad the Watchtower is now known for their court battles to protect child molestors instead of so-called religious freedom. What we owe the Watchtower is derision.

I was baptized 30 years ago and don't remember such a thing. When did it start?

StoptheTears, you're thinking of Tina Turner, not Whitney Houston.

Just when you thought you had seen the worst about Eddie Long...
by serenitynow! inthe disgusting pedophile preacher in atlanta, who paid off his accusers and still is "bishop" in his mega church, was actually crowned king!
not sure of what, but there was a big ceremony, and one of the most bizarre things i've seen.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7wtadde8zi0.
he's got jewish people mad for his use of the torah, and christians for his being declared a king!.

Miraculous news about my daugher, Ali
by coffee_black init's a little over a year since my daughter was diagnosed with end stage congestive heart failure due to a virus.
her dr. was talking heart transplant then.. i almost lost her 3 times over the past year due to complications.
2011 was a tough year to put it mildly.

I am so happy to hear this news and can't wait for the morning to tell my husband. He's felt so bad for every one of Ally's setbacks. Although he's got 26 years on Ally, he's not doing too badly...more good days than bad.

I don't think that's a jw FB page. Click on "Related Posts", and you'll see other anti-jw posts.

But, when I found out I was pregnant it all changed. Suddenly he wanted to play by his rules. He disappeared, and then would resurface for a week, lie again and again, still trying to maintain that "it wasnt a big deal" then he would disappear again. Then he told me that our child would be a witness and "there was nothing I could do about it."
I have a feeling that's pretty much what happened with the couple in the article.
I find the ruling odd too, a 12 yr old can decide if they will die for this religion but cannot vote, join military or consent to sex ( can't consent to have sex with someone nor can parents sign to allow them to marry someone ).
I think the problem in this type of case is that the judge has no idea that there is no such thing as not consenting with the Watchtower. A jw kid is coerced into making such a decision from fear of losing family, friends, and God's love.

New Locks on the Door
by TOTH ini have to say that when my father in law asked us for a key to our apartment with the idea of "helping" my sick wife i did not like the idea at all.
my wife was all for it though so against my protests she went ahead and gave him one.
well with him behaving more and more like a junkie things have finally come to an ugly head.. a little background info.... my wife's dad has been on heavy pain meds for decades now.

If he bangs on the door or tries to break in, call the police. He is an addict and will do anything to get his fix. You'd be doing everyoe a faor if you caled his doctor(s) and reported his addiction.

Thoughts and Opinions on the VAA?
by arko_n9ne inas i've posted multiple times before, i am new to many of the aspects of wts scandals so a couple weeks ago, i was on youtube and heard of a group concept from tim kilgore called the vaa (vast apostate army).. personally, i like the concept of former witnesses and anti-watchtower proponents uniting to stand against the wrong doings of the organization.
i would like their rally in a few years to succeed.
if things look promising enough, i more than likely will go.. but honestly, i don't know much about the vaa, and since it's not a concept with that "new car smell" i imagine people have more infor to offer.. i saw on older posts that witnesses are not fans of the idea of anyone banding together en masse against them, as they go to the lengths of calling the vaa a terrorist organization (though no acts of violence or tyranny have been committed or threatened).. so if anyone can offer insight into this group, it would help a man know if it's a group worth rallying with.. .

I am going to sound weird here, but holy cow! Tim Kilgore posted on my thread! I'm honored.
And yet he is one of the most good natured, down to earth people I've ever run across! I've watched every one of Tim's Watchtower videos and admired him for his message and delivery style. But I absolutely fell in love with him, (in the most platonic sense) after watching his birthday video when he serenaded his fellow You Tube apostates Propaganda Techniques, CS the Apostate, etc.
