Everything is fine! I woke up to check my email, and there was a message from him that mother and baby are okay. Having a little SD-7 in the world is a wonderful thing!

i see from reading all the posts that many many people share my views on the whole jw thing and i'm so glad i can express myself without getting into problems with getting reported to the elders or something.
i am currently in my late 30's happily married to a jaydub with 2 kids.

If your jw mom was being physically abused by her jw husband, adultery may have been the only way she could see to escape it, possibly even saving her life. As for your uncle in law, maybe he was driven from his marriage with your paternal aunt, because she was dysfunctional like her brother. There's no way to tell for certain, but one thing is definite; the stifling marital rules of the Watchtower cause people to do strange things.

*** w88 11/1 p. 22 par. 11 When Marital Peace Is Threatened ***Extreme physical abuse is another basis for separation. Suppose an unbelieving mate often gets drunk, becomes enraged, and causes the believer physical harm. (Proverbs 23:29-35) Through prayer and by displaying the fruitage of Jehovah's spirit, the believer may be able to prevent such outbursts and make the situation endurable. But if the point is reached where the health and life of the abused mate actually are in jeopardy, separation would be allowable Scripturally. Again, congregation elders should look into charges of physical abuse when two Christians are involved in the troubled marriage, and disfellowshipping action may have to be taken.-Compare Galatians 5:19-21; Titus 1:7.
Bold is mine. Notice the abuser is an unbelieving mate. Watchtower rules are totally different when it's a jw who is the abuser.

Stuckinamoveent, I was in that situation. My jw husband punched, kicked and strangled me, drove into oncoming traffic and did anything else he could to terrify me. He was forcibly committed to mental institutions twice. Per the elders: I was to either remain in the marriage or stalk the guy who was threatening to kill me until he decided whether to commit adultery or murder. He would have continued to have power over my life as long as I was married to him. And he wasn't the type to be alone. I fied for divorce, made a false confession of adultery, and proceeded to lose most of my possessions, my car, my home and my family.
You're right...this cult really is a piece of work.

Letter to the Writing Department from Barbara Anderson
by Dogpatch ini thought i knew you.
an open letter from barbara anderson to watch towers writing department.
in 1517, martin luther wrote in a letter to archbishop albert of mainz: you must graciously forgive that i, that scum of the earth, am so bold as to dare to address a letter to you.. yes, i know, you think of me as scum, just like mainz believed of luther, wondering how i dare write you a letter, someone jehovahs witnesses disfellowshipped back in 2002. i was accused of being an unrepentant sinner and condemned for causing divisions, then labeled apostate because i spoke out publicly on nbcs dateline tv program aboutthe child sexual abuse policies that protected pedophiles policies that you helped formulate.

If nothing else, this letter is a tribute to Barbara's grandson. He's only 12 years old now, but can you imagine how he would feel reading this letter at 16, 17, or 18 if he leaves the cult as most young people are now doing? How cool would it be to learn the truth abut the "truth" and then discover that your grandma is a hero in the land of the living!

My computer guy recommended HP, but after going through one of them, a Brother, and a Cannon, my favorite one so far is Lexmark. He also said that the reason I went through so many printers was because I was using generic ink. I don' know for sure if that's true, but I've only used Lexmark ink with the Lexmark printer, and it hasn't given me any problems yet. Also, you can make your wireless secure with a password.
