my little brother (age 19) just got df'ed and is likely going to come live with me.
the entire family (who are all still devout) know that if he decides to do that, he is never coming back since i da'ed years ago and will set him straight.
my only concern is that he may appeal it to keep from losing the family... he only stayed the night at her house twice got to second base.
When he told me that the girl was 16 i nearly died of a heart attack but apparently the age of consent is lower in ohio and he was never in any real prison danger.
That is correct, and trust me, having raised a teenage boy in Ohio, I thoroughly investigated the law. If you live in a different state, please check the laws there, so your brother will know what is and isn't legal.

fuck you.. i was raised in a jw family in the 1980's-1990's where we had to do the daily text 7 days a week during breakfast at the family table at 7am sharp between 7:00-7:15am.
this was followed by a "spiritual discussion," which was held every morning between 7:15am and 8:00am.. since we were homeschooled, our weekly field service was required from childhood on friday mornings immediately following the spiritual discussion, followed by saturday afternoon field service after the bookstudy, as well as sunday afternoon field service after the watchtower study.. i was also required to read each watchtower and awake magazine and give oral reports about each magazine i read in order for my father to be sure that i had actually read them.
i can't remember for sure, but i think each watchtower and awake was released every two weeks back then, making a new magazine to read every single week, followed by an oral report on every single article (including the watchtower study articles which i also had to read, then study in our weekly family watchtower study where we marked our answers, then studied again at the sunday watchtower study).. in addition to this, we also had a weekly family bible study at night each week, had a family bookstudy at night in which we marked our answers for the saturday morning bookstudy, had a family watchtower study at night where we marked our answers for the sunday morning watchtower study, had a family prayer together every night before bed, every morning before and after breakfast and every night before and after dinner (not including our half-family prayers for lunch by my mother since we were homeschooled.).
First, welcome to JWN. Second, after reading SD-7's posts on this thread, go back and read some of his earliest posts. He's come so far in very little time. You can do the same. You may be able to find other ex-jws in your area by checking meetup.com. Between associating with other ex-jws, reading a few of the reccommended books, and getting some therapy, (either privately or with AA), you're going to be fine.

It simply astounds me that jws will brag about all of the freedom of religion court cases that the Watch Tower has won in the past, yet they believe that the very same organization wouldn't sue for liable over so called false information about joining the UN. Before my jw mom started shunning my inactive brother, she claimed that the child sex abuse claims in the news weren't true...that Satan was putting false information out there. What a bunch of sad fools!

Apparently you or someone you love has never suffered or died from the Watch Tower's ever changing blood doctrine or been the victim of a child molestation cover up. Unfortunately, there are thousands who have had such experiences. And that is because all that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. I chose to be one of the "good" who does something.
tinker told me about this documentary and i finally got around to watching it.
i thought it was great.
i'm wondering if anyone else has seen it.
