The other day I found a red plastic bag hanging on the knob of our exterior door. It contained a calendar with beautiful landscape scenes and scriptures for every month of the year. I'm not a Bible believer, but I hung up the calendar because of the pretty pictures. It is a win/win in my view. The First Baptist Church gets to share its faith without intrusion on my life, and I get a free calendar. I'm pretty sure jws would be much more accepted in society if they did something similar.

I'm sorry this happened to you, but stop feeling embarrassed. Your ex-boyfriend was trained from birth to be manipulative, because he was and now is in a cult. As tempting as it may be to either stay friends with him or report his behavior to the elders, please don't. Both options will just cause continued grief for you. Cut him out of your life. If, by some chance, he leaves the cult, do not go back into a relationship with him unless he has had extensive counseling under the direction of a cult expert such as Stephen Hassan, Randy Watters, etc.
It usually takes years for an ex-jw to cope with the Watch Tower's psychological damage. Although most eventually come through it just fine, there are a few who go off the deep end and become dangerous people.

I hope writing things like this is purging the Watch Tower out of your system. I don't know how you can do this without going crazy. But then again, I can't read Watch Tower material without getting sick to my stomach.

and it was a scam. Just a heads up to you all. I hung up on the guy and Googled "Microsoft called me at home" to find that this has been going on in the UK and Australia for years. It seems the thieves have branched out to the USA, offering to clean computers of malware and viruses. They direct you to download software that allows them to control your computer by remote in order to steal any valuable data and then have the nerve to charge you for it.

My son's heart is broken
by ruderedhead ini'm sure someone here has experienced this before.
please help me help my son.
his wife of 15 months told him last night that she needs her space, that what she wanted 1 year ago isn't the same as what she wants now.

I'm sorry you and your son are going through this difficulty. But if your daughter-in-law was certain of her love for your son, she certainly wouldn't want more time away from him. Regardless of whether she's found someone else, she doesn't want her husband. Encourage your son to mourn the loss and then keep himself busy with starting a new life of his own. Even if she has a change of heart, he may decide that he likes his new life without her.
All you can do is be there for him by advising that "This too shall pass", point out his good qualities, and encourage him to go on with his life. If she's as determined to end this marriage as she seems, she probably will refuse counseling. Your son's circumstances surrounding his job are no fault of his own.
I have two younger sisters who are married to Navy men. They spend months apart from their husbands. Your daughter-in-law could have it much worse than she already does.

My mother passed away this morning...
by Tatiana infor any old-school ex-jws here that remember my many posts about my abusive jw mother and my sister committing suicide because of it...she passed away this morning because she began to bleed out and refused a transfusion.
she had been in the hospital for a month.
it appears she suffered a stroke and wasn't found by the brothers & sisters for three days (they missed her at the meetings).

Question: What would happen if...
by OneDayillBeFree in...all of the governing body members suddenly died?!.
i had been feeling a little sick so i took some nyquil which gave me the craziest dream last night where i saw a jdub plan out and kill each one of the gb!
each made to look like an accident or like an illness.

Robitussin makes me have terrible dreams. There will always be somebody to take the place of a gb member.
