Turns out it was true - "the truth" was the only reason my marriage lasted so long
by Shattered Reality ini haven't really been on here in like, a year.

Not only should you throw him out to fend for himself, you should pursue him for child support. Maybe if he'd been working as much as you have, he wouldn't have time to pursue a woman who is not only emotionally unfaithful to her boyfriend, but is also willing to stay involved with a married man.
Take some time to consider exactly why you still love this guy. He is using you for emotional and financial support while flaunting his online relationship with another woman. By your description of him, he is not worthy of you being his wife or best friend.
The longer you hold onto him, the harder it will be to move on with your life. Find friends and/or a support group/therapy. I hope things work out well for you and your kids.

I suspect that your neighbors aren't overly friendly to you, because you are single. If your city has a big crime problem, you're probably viewed with suspicion. Take the opportunity this Halloween to sit in your front yard and give out candy to the kids. It will give you a chance to at least greet your neighbors. When new people move in, make the effort to welcome them to the neighborhood.
I'm very lucky to live in a small town where crime is just about nil. With the exception of one family, everyone on our street is friendly. We all help each other out. I hope things get better for you, because having good neighbors makes for a happier home.

PEER PRESSURE!!! I gave in to Pioneering during August...I feel dirty...
by stuckinarut2 inok, i'll admit it...i am weak.... as everyone knows, the pressure to "pioneer" during "the most momentous, awesome, amazing, centenary anniversay of jesus invisble kigdom rule, & distribute tracts about a dodgy website" campaign is very strong at the moment.... also, many will have read my threads about the extreme views and expectations in our cong for "all appointed men to pioneer" etc..... every elder and ms and their families have been announced as pioneering....i mean everyone's name was read out except mine..... i was not going to do it, as i do not believe anyone should be forced...(and of course its the last thing on earth i would rather do anyway since learning ttatt).
but i am not quite ready to make the break yet, so i realised that i would stand out more if i didnt put in a form to pioneer.
yes it would make me more conspicious, and make fading harder to do...it would bring more heat on me if i didnt pioneer.. so i gave in and submitted a form.... now, of course, i'm only going to make sure i'm seen at the key field service groups etc...but then go and do something more interesting...like count blades of grass..... ahh....i feel hypocritical to myself now......

Look at it this way; you will be going out and encouraging "worldy" people to look up the Watch Tower on the internet. You don't reallly think that most of them will just check jw.org, do you?

Interesting experience at work re: convention invite
by sd-7 inso, a guy i know and would sometimes chat with briefly at work came to me recently.
he said he'd been invited by his neighbor to attend the upcoming jw convention.
apparently, he had heard that i used to be a jw and wanted to get my thoughts about whether he should go.

The Memorial- Passing the emblems, a prime display of weirdness
by Darth Fader The Sequel innot sure if this bothered other people, but it absolutely drove me crazy!!!!.
ok, typical annual memorial.
the emblems are being passed around.

I don't believe in Satan or Satanism, but the passing of the emblems without partaking still creeps me out. I read somewhere that Satanists have the same ceremony in order to reject the body and blood of Jesus.

Would you do this to your kids? Is this cold or am I crazy?
by BU2B inmy mentally in jw wife is trying to organize a "princess party" for my 4 year old daughter and her little cousins and friends.
she was looking at prices of a tent for the backyard party in case it rains.
she asked the hardware store how much and they said 90 dollars for the day.

You can buy a 10 X 20 tent in various colors, (too bad the pink is out of stock), for a little more than $90. We bought the 10 X 30 last year. It really is nice quality, and my husband put it up by himself, although the directions say it takes about six people to do so. Here is the link:
Good luck with the Princess Party! The pink tent would be just perfect, but the white one will do for that and any other event. Also be sure to give your in-laws an estimate on how much they'll have to pay for their anniversary party. Just think how much money they'll save by using their dusty old tent, LOL!

Would like all of your imput on this. Please
by Still Totally ADD inboth reopened mind and i are now in our early 60's and it seems our conversations lately have been on putting everything up for sale and buying a rv and travel until we can't anymore.
it has been a dream of ours for along time to see all the site's in the u.s. and canada.
we feel we could make money as we go by selling and teaching using herbs and gardening.

I'm doing okay, TotallyADD; thanks for asking. You could still do what I've advised, except you could rent or sell the Florida house.
