WHAT if we're wrong?
by shell69 ini mean, i know i'm bitter.. normally these days quite strong, not feeling so much so much the last few days though.. what i'd give to do the things i was used to.
going doing the weekly shop with my mum, her popping round for a brew in the morning.. a hug from her, just to to know from the way she communicated with me, that she loved me.
i miss her so much.. and what if i'm wrong?.

Will Remarrying Lead to DFing?
by compound complex inthe wtb&ts states in this or that circumstance* the offended jw may separate or divorce but never remarry.
neither can the discarded mate remarry.. what could the local congregation do if they learned that either one of the above (faded, ex, whatever) remarries?.
*one's physical or spiritual life (usually that of the wife) is endangered; one (always the husband) refuses to provide for one's family, .... thanks,.

These stories about schemes are very sad to me. I didn't have the time or inclination to scheme my way out of a dangerous marriage to an abusive jw husband. I offered to d/a myself when I realized that my only two choices were to stay and be a better wife and wait on Jehovah (as the elders continually encouraged me to do) or divorce and wait around for him to commit adultery. I was df'd instead. He remarried very quickly. The irony was that my ex's uncle who was an elder wanted me to warn that poor woman about how crazy he was. Since I wanted to do nothing to bring that lunatic back into my life, I refrained. I was newly baptized and new to the congregation, and not one person warned me about him. After I got married, his mother admitted to me that he used to hit her. This organization is full of shit.

i personally think they were zealot delusions.

by new boy ini have two true strange stories.. the first story is of this guy (lets call him bob) that comes to the portland oregon exjw "meet up group.".
the strange thing about bob is he has never been a jw...or ever wanted to be.
so why does he come to the meetings?.

Why don't you refer him to those attorneys who specialize in jw custody cases? He may be able to get custody or at least stop the brainwashing by court order.

Had you not set your children free from this cult, chances are good they would've been molested by a trusted "brother", or they would've grown up and left the organization only to be estranged from you. Or if you have daughters, they probably would've married men who abused them. Take it from someone who was abused as a child and a wife within the organization.God does not require that you sacrifice your kids to pedophiles and wife beaters. He doesn't ask that you deny them an education and freedom. He doesn't want that for you either. On the other hand, the WTB&TS requires your mother to shun you, and for what?

Superstition in Your Congregation

after all, they will walk under the ladders and cross the paths of black cats without flinching.
when i was in, i would often go out of my way to go under unoccupied ladders (i do not recommend walking under occupied ladders, because someone might drop something and hit you in the head).

What the Hades is going on at the local Kingdom Hall?
by AK - Jeff inthe kh that i attended has always held it's meetings on sunday morning, and still does.
even on the days when the co visits there are normally only a handful of cars left in the parking lot after 3 pm, as the co typically quits service and heads home by 3 or 4, and besides, if you are not in his group it is usually 'take a few doors, count an hour, and get home in time to watch the game' attitude.
so today i drive by after work - it is 4 pm when i pass the kingdom hall, and the damned parking lot is just packed - maybe 45 or 50 cars in the lot.

Our friend is gone now
by 2tired2care ini am new to this forum but the reason i joined is because im fed up.
the death of one of my wifes friends was the last straw.
she was a faithful sister who was loyal to her husband children and friends and they found her dead in her car about a month ago.

Welcome and so sorry for your loss. I read somewhere that there is a higher proportion of the jw population with mental illness than with prison inmates. Look up Dr. Jerry Bergman for more info. It may help you to understand the dynamics within the organization.
