But so does my elder grandfather selling me to other men and watching. At least he gave me a cut, though I was too young to know what to do with the money.
Are you serious?
No, I don't believe that a gang of elders raped this guy either. When I said "...Helped to Screw this Guy Up", I meant that he obviously has mental problems that probably weren't dealt with in a professional way being raised a jw. The accusation of him being demonized rings true to me. Or maybe he really just is a drugged out bad guy who is pretending to be crazy. Who knows? But it's interesting when stories like this come along, because after all, isn't being a jw a protection against the world (drugs and demons)?

If you don't mind being shunned by your jw relatives, your husband's letter is excellent. If you don't want to be shunned, then send a variation of Dr. Bob's letter threatening legal action. They'll probably leave you alone after that.

Why don't you stay in construction and get a PMP (Project Management Professional) certificate? It only takes 8 weeks.

I never wore pantyhose as a jw and still don't. I think I have some kind of allergy, as my legs used to break out in a rash when I wore them. During the winters I wore tights, but in warm weather, I just wore dresses well below the knee. No one ever said anything to me about it, even while I pioneered. Maybe the rule doesn't count for fat girls.

Trapped in an elevator...
by whitman inwho is the last person you would ever want to be trapped in an elevator with?
for me - tom cruise.
-
jamiebowers
It doesn't matter to me who I get trapped in an elevator with, because I'd probably die from a heart attack anyway. Getting trapped in an elevator is one of my worst fears, aside from bats, crossing bridges and rodents. Am I a little neurotic?
Edited to add: flying, floating and driving in the snow.

IMHO, the French are pretty much like the Russians; they simply don't play. Good for them.

If that's the case, I wonder what Sam's Club will do since they sell it by the gallon. Maybe we'll have to start showing our driver's licenses or something. A couple of years ago my husband went to a dollar store to purchase two bottles of their brand of Nyquil and two bottles of their brand of Dayquil, and the cashier refused to sell him all four bottles. She said that it could be used to make methanphetamine. We were both very sick with nasty colds, and he just lost it. He told the cashier that he didn't even know what the f**k meth was. She sold it to him, and he hasn't had a problem with making purchases there since then. It's a crazy world!

Apostate Talk
by Wordly Andre inwhy is it that jw's are so afraid to talk to anyone who questions the beliefs, or in general says anything bad about the org.
case in point here i have a friend his family are all jw's not the best of the crowd but they are trying, anyway his brother and i were talking and i was telling him about how some of my cousins have left the org, and even showed him a funny picture of all of us wearing jehovah's witness protection program t-shirts there were about 7 of us in the photo.
he ended the converstation very rapidly and left.. i was not really telling him anything that bad, and i was just mostly joking with him, honestly i didn't think he was all that much of a jw, before he got married he lived with his gf, i have heard he likes to party, and for the most part you'd swear he wasn't a jw, not even baptized.

I think the actions described above are due to mind control. JWs are so brainwashed that even a mention of something that they construe as against the society, they panic. Although they have no better way of life than anyone else, they are browbeaten to the point where they think they do.

Ok, so I have only put 2 posts on here, since I'm so new. You may want to read them first to get a little background on me. :) Anyway, let me say that I am feeling so enlightened and refreshed. I feel like there are people who understand me (the ones in this forum). Let me say, I have always wanted to celebrate birthdays and Christmas. I think it's absurd that because 2 birthdays mentioned in the Bible turned out badly, that this means we're not supposed to celebrate them. The fact that the birthdays were mentioned may have been just so the reader can get a clearer picture of the scene being described, not to say that birthdays are bad. Sorry....getting off track. At any rate, I want to celebrate holidays. Damn if it's "Wrong", I want to do it! Do any Ex-JWs celebrate holidays? The longer you are out, the more you will see that every rule made by the WTB&TS is to gain control of a volunteer workforce and a customer base for the drivel they print. It all comes down to dollars and cents, my dear. And, yes, I am one of many exjws who celebrate birthdays and holidays in a BIG way. It takes a little money and a lot of time, but hey, what are you going to do with your resources if you're not running to the meetings and chasing your tail out in field service? Welcome to JWD. Enjoy the ride!
